Great video Jeremy! I’ve got to ask why only a 91 for the 21 year old though if it’s one of the most drinkable whisky’s you’ve ever had (and you’ve had some nice ones!)? You’re leaving yourself a ton of leeway for better whisky’s I guess. Old Jim Murray never seems to mark anything over 97.5. Is 92ish your highest mark given so far?

The 21 is extremely drinkable, however it's not the most complex and the finish isn't the longest (2 things I value highly in a whisky). Cheers man :)

Great video. I’ve only had 10, 12 CS, and 15. My faves is the 12CS and my wife’s is the 10. They both beat the 15 for both taste and value. Haven’t tried the pricier ones-hard to justify the price on those. But the 10 and 12CS are very good.

I have tried the 10, 15 and 18 only. I liked the 18 a lot, but I got it in a NY bar, typical 2oz shot, so I don’t know which year was release, but I’m sure it has to be 2019, as you know, bars are always in business. I didn’t pay for it, so I can’t speak for value. The 10 is very pleasant in both nose and palate as well, and the 15 was a bit thin to me. Duty/Tax play the biggest roles, but I really have no idea how the LCBO determines prices. For example Glenfiddich 30 is a £499 bottle in the UK, it's about $600 in the US, $800ish in Alberta, and $5,000 at the LCBO! It makes no sense to me what so ever.

They say Springbank is the distillery that does no wrong, though I'm not too sure if it's true. But it's one I love and hate at the same time, especially when it comes to very obvious batch variations. Yet this is exactly what differentiates a small distillery operated by hands from the industrial whisky complex operated by corporate firm.

Enjoyed the video. You're lucky to get those prices, cheapest Springbank 10 I could find here in where I live in California is $70. Still worth it. Personally, I think the Springbank 10 is the best bang for buck of any major distilleries "standard line"=), not counting independently bottled. Please let me know if there's one I'm missing. I like how you included value in your ratings which is different from other reviewers. The descriptions are detailed. Only criticism is your ratings don't make a ton of sense. Ex. The 21 year you said "probably one of the most drinkable whiskies I've EVER had" but you then you went on to confidently rate it only 91.5??! hahaha... Ok
@SippersSocialClub4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for tuning in! To clarify my SB21 score. Drinkability isn't necessarily all I'm looking for in a whisky. Yes, it's awesome, but doesn't have the same complexity and depth other scotches do. Checkout my Brora 38 review. That whisky has elements that this doesn't. The Brora isn't as drinkable, but it's definitely the superior pour. Cheers!

Great rundown. Love the latest 25 but I agree, overpriced. Preferred the 2018 edition of the 21yr old, and did not appreciate the recent 12yr old cask strength as much as usual, probably due to its diminished sherry cask % and increase bourbon proportions. Nice work!
