Rassie Erasmus has beaten his opponents to the punch this week, naming his side to play Ireland on Tuesday lunchtime. NO changes to the 23. My thoughts on the selection...let me know yours in the comments.

Rassie is playing mind games. I agree with Tim, we will never go away from our DNA and we are building on top of that. The first game was all in on this style to see how we can play, and now we go back to our DNA with the added attack ontop of it. If the boys can gel this could be a manslaughter of a game. 15+ points. Imagine being able to shift between styles when ever you want to, the opponent would be scrambling!

I would loved to have seen Evan Roos start with Kwagga coming off the bench for that explosive impact. And then would have enjoyed seeing Grant Williams starting with Manie Libbok to get that backline really firing. I agree with Rassie’s choice to keep the same 23, but I would have suggested swapping Marx and Bongi’s roles solely (I’m one of Bongi’s biggest fans) because of Malcolm’s strength at the breakdown, which the Irish dominated in the first half, and because Bongi’s a terrific scrummager who would anchor the second-half bomb squad.

I also agree, not as Keohane might believe we want this our new style. There are times when our frontal assault does not work out and perhaps Rassie just wants to know we are able to use this other set of skills if perhaps needed (if scrums get hard nerfed or not)

Agree, can you imagine us playing our traditional style and the opposition feeling confident they can keep us out and then suddenly within seconds we switch styles and their defense is not set for it, they then make adjustments and boom, we switch back again. If they can get this right and make sure they have the ability to seamlessly switch back and forth, I feel sorry for any oppositions analysts.

@@brettfleiner4906 Exactly, where and how do you defend BOTH options? Being fluid in our approach or game plan can be a great weapon. Tim, your content is so good, no one even says anything about your poor camera, probably just your lighting outside 😅. I always enjoy your content, and I am always happy to get a new notification from you :)

Doesn't Matt Williams know that a team these days consists of 23 players and it's up to the coach to make use of their collective strengths as best as he can?

Great to hear you're enjoying KZN. It's a beautiful place indeed. The winters are also milder than in Gauteng and Cape Town. The great thing about South African names in the Nguni languages (Zulu, Xhosa, Ndebele, Siswati) and also in Sesotho, Sepedi, Setswana, Tsonga and Venda, is that you can put that name in a sentence and it has meaning that everyone can easily understand. Like Siyamthanda Kolisi, The first name meaning "we love him" in Xhosa. And indeed we do. I'm gonna think of an appropriate Zulu name for you i think 😅.

What can we look forward to from the Durban DJ. 'Another one bites the dust' if an Irish player is knocked out cold?
