You usually cant adjust an Air Rifle like you do a regular rifle. You need to take 3-5 shots before each time you adjust to see how the rifle reacts to the pellets and its general trajectory. This air rifle looks spot on tho very impressive! Great video. Your going to have a lot of fun with this. There are also tons of different pellets for .22cal. Amazon has a large assortment of brands for pretty good prices its where i get my .22 Pellets from. They even have H&N .22 Slugs that my air rifle loves, puts them in the same hole with massive expansion! WTW!!!!!

I love this community. I hope everybody has a great night. Thanks for showing that awesome replica. I just refinished an old Sheridan .20 that's probably as old as I am. She shoots true and I was shocked that Pyramid stocks that very same model. I guess some folks have them kitted for tranquilizer darts. I'll stick to the lead pellets tho. 😆 I hope you're having a good one WTW.🤙🏾

Speaking of resting the gun off things. If you are not familiar: springers should be allowed to recoil. If you try to hold them tighter like one would a deer rifle, you will get substandard results. You should either rest it on top of something like in the video, or use the "artillery hold" when shooting off hand.
@OrionARS2 жыл бұрын
You'de never catch a sniper or long range hunter NOT using a rest, so those people saying 'using a rest is cheating', just don't know anything about shooting imo lol

Practicing and being proficient with off-hand shooting is important, but I completely agree. Any time I have the opportunity to increase the stability of my rifle, I’m going to take full advantage. I’ve shot tons of deer (etc) off-hand, but it’s always a bit of a gamble, especially when you’re excited. I personally only go off-hand if I have no other choice and the targeted prey is within 100 yards. Beyond that and I feel like I just didn’t do my part and need to let it walk. I’d rather not shoot at all than send a round where I didn’t fully intend to.

Nice that they have that release lever for closing the gun once loaded. Anti bear trapping mechanisms are nice. Should try doing clay block and water jug tests to see if any of the pellets expand.

Was thinking the same. That crow magnum looks like it would turn into a penny given it hit something hard. Pointed vs dome vs hollow vs wad would be interesting. I like pointed for hunting, dome for plink, and wads for pistol. They even have polymer and lead free ammo too, would be interesting.
@halfcirclehranch68772 жыл бұрын
@@dickdastardly8150 I've never had good accuracy out of pointed pellets, myself. I've heard a lot of people say domed pellets are the way to go for hunting, since they penetrate reasonably well, but give decent impact as well. I've thought about brewing up some of my own ballistic gel to test pellets with. I know some people use plain, clear, unflavored Knox gelatin. Just have to shoot it fast so it doesn't melt, I guess.
@dickdastardly81502 жыл бұрын
@@halfcirclehranch6877 a barracuda is semi domed but fine point at end, kinda of a hybrid. But my Ruger 17 grains are pretty accurate, it does give up some velocity for more accuracy but plenty powerful. Seen terracotta wax works well for ballistics. I like your idea though, sounds interesting. I had some blocks of cheese in the past I have shot, worked well caught a few. But the lead free raptors went right through.

If you move your site in the front you go towards the holes where you hit the backside you go the opposite way depending which when you're moving The front side just like pins on a compound bow you go towards the holes on the pins where if you went and the back side the little peephole you'd have to go the opposite same way on both of them. You just front sight. You go towards the holes. If it's low you go move the front side down. If they go high you can move them up The rear sight. If they're low you move it back side up. Hope it didn't confuse you but that's the way I try to remember it. They just officer each other

" M1A" is the commercial designation for the M1. The Joe Public model. This is actually an, " M1A/M14". My Vietnam-era Marine brother started training with the M14 in like '72. Before they were given the then new M16. Mine is also the .22cal model. But the stock on mine is darker, like a medium walnut. A heavy rifle at 9.9lbs with the wood stock. But the weight does make for a steadier hold. Accurate and fun! I'd love to see the look on the older hunter's faces when they see me hunting small game with an M14!
@125southernnh210 ай бұрын
I have the Winchester M14 Dual CO2 rifle as well as this one and the details are pretty much the same. You need a corresponding rail kit to install a scope and after that it's a fun shooter. As heavy as the M1 Garand I slung in boot camp for sure!

Another cool and fun video. I do not know if the Pyramid Air sights match an M1A National Match or not, but if so each click would be about .5 MOA. It might be good to zero it out at 50 yards (within a Tennessee squirrel body area anyways) and then see where it hits at 10’-20’. You may just end up with a point blank range squirrel/crow getter out to 50 yards👍 Keep up the good work brother!
