*Ronin Update* - Just so everyone knows, this video was filmed in late October which was before we published/released our Full-Size .45ACP Ronin review. So, after receiving a few comments from viewers on the .45ACP Ronin video we reviewed the footage and came to the conclusion that I pressed on the slide stop just enough to lock up both of the full-size Ronin pistols. I’ve only had this happen with the two full size SA Ronin pistols, never before with any other 1911... so quite honestly the experience surprised me. As of writing this message I ended up filing/sanding the slide stops on my Ronin 1911’s to be flush. It’s the only 1911’s I will do this to I believe.... I’m definitely not going to touch my Les Baer’s because I’ve never had this issue occur with them - which is likely because of the tighter tolerances on those pistols (being custom fully hand-fit “ *hard-fit* ” 1911’s and all) Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this video. When reviewing to 10mm model I locked the slide back on accident as well. I shoot with a high grip… it surprised me initially, but I realized pretty quickly what had happened. Overall we enjoyed shooting the Ronin.

Stock Mag on mine sucks it won’t feed the first round if it’s a full mag so running Wilson Combat. Otherwise overall it’s a beautiful ride!!!

The malfunction in the beginning of the video appears to be the support hand thumb (in this case the right thumb) pressing against the slide stop pivot pin, causing the slide stop to engage the take-down notch and locking the slide in place in an unusual manner. Just my .02 worth.

We try to do things we find interesting ourselves. As our excitement about the products is real. We did allot of Glocks and Sigs our first 5 years. I think the Glock Lovers think we don’t like Glocks and that is not true. However, we are not going to beat a horse over and over again, and say Glocks are the only way. They make a very good pistol and I own 12 of them...... now it is time to move on to things We like Now and find very interesting as of 2021 and worth others to consider. So I’m not bashing you at all. I liked the video and all. I just have to say this in regard to the malfunctions. My suggestion is to work on really locking your wrist. It looks like that firearm is recoiling way more than it should and when they aren’t kept tight they tend to malfunction like that. I mean to be perfectly honest I can limp wrist any 1911 and make it malfunction. Not saying you did. Just saying maybe work on your technique to try and keep that muzzle down more

I gifted this pistol to a family member, so I don't have more experience with this particular 9mm 1911 personally other than what you've seen in this video. I can tell you it's very important to run high quality 9mm 1911 magazines, either from Wilson Combat or Tripp Research for the best reliability. - B9USA

I had a Problem with a Springfield Armory LW Commander Ronin 9mm at my Local gun shop. The Slide release Would not Lock the Slide Back , After dropping the Magazine too Clear the Sidearm . After be handed too Me my salesman . I had too insert the Mag again too Lock the Slide Back , for final Clear . I handed back to the Salesman , he took in to the Back . I hope they would send in Back too Springfield Armory and say FIX the Slide Release . It not Right . The ( MIM) Parts Springfield uses is not Best in the World . It's Cost and price Point too Them . I generally replace My Small Parts with Wilson Combat , Tactical Slide Release ,Tactical Safety , Hammer and Trigger . The only thing I keep is Grip safety and Flat mainspring Housing . I Learned from Experience over the Years since , Learn something New , Apply It too another 1911 Learning Curve . About 1911 Magazine's ever heard of Chip Mccormick magazine ? They are nice one's . 1911 9MM Pro-Range 10 rd stainless $35.00 each . Take Care Guys ......

I have a les bear, and a ronin 1911 in 9mm and 10mm for a bottom entry 1911 it’s a great gun. Personally this is the lowest 1911 style or quality I would buy. Rock river. Sds, armscore etc to me are same class as a bersa. I love your review but I wouldn’t trade 10 of these for my bear. I like the blue grips are they wilson combats.

@@BERETTA9mmUSA My dad is 83 and he turned me onto 1911’s from young , and revolvers. Lol he is funny he has a few modern semi but “there not as reliable as his wheel guns or 1911’s). Lol 1911’s can be finicky but he has helped me with a great collection. I have 2 ronin 9mm/10mm . It shoots 100 times better then my colt delta. It was hard to find the 10mm. I just never had a 9mm 1911 and for Ronin’s price point top notch. I’m not a fan of rock, arms, etc.. I have a 38 super 1911 that’s so much fun but ammo sucks. Thanks and godbless

Not digging the burns on the barrel crown after shooting. I had an aftermarket Glock barrel that did this and it drove me crazy. They wouldn't clean off! Super annoying.

you nailed the concept of use for me. Dont have a 1911... this looks like good enough quality and value to be my first. I am competent enough bubba gunsmith that I can swap in some forged Wilson small parts if I bond with gun ... and if by chance I dont: can sell it for very little exposure. I have ordered the 5” 9mm ... as Ill be punching paper or steel plinking, dont need the SD aspect of .45.. ( or the expense ) ... was torn between 5” or 4.25”... but carry isnt my priority so trying the 5”. even tho 4.25” would cover all bases,.. range or carry. I get the feeling it wont be my last 1911 🤣

It is holding up OK, the 1911 for the money is a good deal. If anyone wanted to spend more money I would have them check out the Blued Sbardella Arms 1911 that we reviewed 2 weeks ago. Les Baer charges upwards of $2,500 and uses cast parts??? They can keep them. I have Alchemy and Wilson and some one-man shop pistols, Don Williams, John Harrison, and Steve Morrison. I don't like Nighthawk, lots of window dressing like slide ports and other crap. Baer are way over priced for their fit and finish. I'll stick with Alchemy and Wilson for semi-custom builds. Wilson 9mm mags are state of the art. They have a dent at the front of the feed lips to prevent nose diving. Perhaps the chamber a bit too tight?
