There's no pretense of civility, quite the opposite. It's the choice of not being violent that distinguishes a protest from a riot. Of course not all cops are bad or prejudiced but the amount that are and act upon those unbecoming characteristics with lethal force is horribly high & the fraternity nature of the industry tends to insulate the unfavorable ones. Let's not treat society like fucking team sports, it's not just blm v cops. This is a profoundly nuanced matter with a million facets that will be decided slowly & god willing, peacefully.
