A range review with the Springfield SA-35, a Hi-Power clone manufactured in the United States. Does it have the quality and reliability of the original FN/Belgian made models? Let's see.

I once owned a Hungarian manufactured "Hi Power" clone that was strictly GI. No extended bever tail, target sights, larger safety, or rounded hammer. It was, and remains to this day, the only pistol chambered in 9 Minimal that I felt comfortable carrying everyday as it fed every bullet style/type I fed it and was amazingly accurate out to fifty yards. Sadly, it was department policy that ANY semi auto pistol, carried on or off duty, had to be a DA or DAO. I kind of wish I still had that pistol as it might well have been the most accurate 9 Minimal pistol I have ever owned.

I have been down on Springfield Armory ever since they pulled a fast one against Illinois gun owners along with Rock River. I used to live in Illinois and took it personally when they made a sweetheart deal with crooked Illinois politicians. Since that time I have been tempted by some of their products, but have always remembered what happened and stopped myself from buying their stuff. I had gotten angry in the past at Smith &Wesson, Ruger, and even Colt for some of their “accommodations “ to anti-gunners. Maybe someday I will forgive, but I’m not ready yet.

@@johndilday1846 I felt that way as well a few years ago, but decided to let it go. Also, since I am doing a review channel now, I am not just buying guns for myself, but to test. There are a lot of people interested in their products, so I figured I should try them out. However, I really like that Garrison I bought and this one ain't too bad either. I haven't kept any of their polymer guns though.

Don't they use turkish frames and slides? They finish at S.A. maybe.

@@brownhipower I had not heard that. They aren't marked as anything but Springfield, but I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case. I will have to look into that.

That's what I heard, the frame, slide and barrel are from Tisas.

@@Cap5332 I have been trying to research that today and so far I have not found anything online but rumors. I can't verify it. Neither Springfield nor Tisas state that. Per Springfield's website it is "made in the USA", but that can obviously have different meanings. There used to be a silverware company here in Jackson TN that would buy forks/spoons/knives from China separated into handles and tops. They would put the two pieces together and then sell them as "made in the USA" because that apparently fit the legal definition. I saw one guy online in a forum stated that they were forged in Turkey, but machined in IL; however there is no evidence that I can find that this is true.

50% domestic content I believe is the requirement for US Made (could be mistaken). Google is a bunch of damn hypocrits. Since YT is still running targeted ads for gun related products during my viewing are they going to delete their own division?
