Where Colorado Springs water comes from

My dad helped run the lighting in the tunnel coming through the mountains at turquoise Lake back in the 60s. My little brother and I got to stay with him and his fellow electrician for a couple of weeks. We fished out two coolers of trout in a matter of hours and I was amazed at that giant toilet out in the middle of the lake LOL

I live in Colorado springs. My water is yellow, and it tastes funny, even after filtering it. I thought it might be the water heater, but it's the same with the cold water. The water used to be good in this city, but now, not so much!

If Arkansas River flows are at 90-100% but that water is contaminated with fracking waste being dumped in the river by Big Energy, is that water purified enough to be potable?
