A couple of things to note about the final boss theme: While the theme song to Sky Sanctuary always had the message of wonder to its town, the original incarnation of the song, as featured within Sonic 3 and Knuckles, also had a foreboding vibe towards it, no doubt due to it nearing the final confrontation against Eggman. This foreboding vibe tends to get lost within future incarnations of the song, including the one that appears within Sonic Generations. Sonic Pocket Adventure uses the incarnation of the song as exactly featured within Sonic 3 and Knuckles. As such, while you wouldn't expect it to apply within this context for a reason that should be obvious, it actually does; this time representing Super Sonic's plight against Eggman. The song was chosen for this scene precisely due to its foreboding undertones, since lost within later incarnations of the same song.

Depending on which Eggman fight you're referring to, it's either: a) Sonic 3 Boss Theme b) Sonic & Knuckles Mini-Boss Theme c) Sonic 3/& Knuckles Final Boss Theme d) Sky Sanctuary Zone Music The Knuckles and Silver Sonic fights use Flying Battery Zone and The Doomsday Zone musics respectively.

I actually like a lot the Sky Sanctuary theme used as the final boss music. Even if it doesn't sound threatening, the SSZ music is the most heroic sounding theme ever used in a Sonic game.

@marioandsonicguy2 It's actually part of the fight if you want to get to Chaotic Space and the good ending. Robotnik uses the Emerald to help power his machine, and to get it, you've got to physically knock it off and grab it before you destroy the machine itself.

if your having trouble with the frame rate on NEOPOP then go to options- frame skip- show all frames music and sounds still little laggy but the gameplay is just about right

There's a audible "YES!", albeit extremely muffled right after the Last Utopia boss is defeated. It's extremely muffled because the PC itself recorded it (somehow), not a microphone. This was recorded on a very old PC, so it had an internal microphone.

I think its really cooll that this looks and plays like a best-of remix of the four classic Sonic sidescrollers. Weird that Knuckles' music is Flying Battery Zone from S&K but it works.

i miss this game, i used to have it, way back in the day. NeoGeo Pocket Color rocked my socks with this game, and that the NGPC introduced the whole SNK vs Capcom series.

This game is one of the best for the Neo Pocket. If you like Sonic or platform games at all you have got to get this one.A perfect game. Don't expect a whole lot new if you have played this on the Genesis. The thing is, that is what is so great. Nothing is lost from the console version.

There are some nasty segments, even as early as Secret Plant, but it's about on-par with Sonic 2. The real difficulty comes from trying to collect every puzzle piece in the game. Some of the Chaos Emeralds special stages are also challenging.

its likely a coding error in regards to the music, probably due to a level order switch or something, sky sanctuary is probably supposed to play during the silver sonic boss and doomsday is probably supposed to play during the final boss.
