What I love is that Dr. Glassman doesn’t say “It’s okay” because right now Shaun is not okay, but he simply said “I’m here.” That’s what Shaun needs. Is for him to be there.

This is the straw that broke Shawn's back. He has been through a lot. Lia lying about his chart, Glassman said he would be by his side and not be there, try to save a baby where he couldn't save his own, even when he doesn't show, shawn cares about his patients and doesn't want them to go through what he's been through. Freddy deserves an Oscar for showing this heart breaking moment.

My son is autistic. He is only 12 at the moment, but he can't verbalize his feelings. I don't want to cripple him by having him be solely dependent on ME to speak for him, but I don't know how to NOT speak for him. This clip reminds me that there is so much more under the surface, so much that even my son himself can't necessarily access. It may all come bubbling up or exploding out one day, and I hope that if I can't be the one to simply be there, I hope SOMEONE caring enough and understanding enough IS there. To simply BE THERE to hold him up.

@@lindaleelaw5277meds don’t always fix it, and it’s more than just overwhelmed…… I’m not autistic, but my mental illnesses mimic autism. Imagine being in a pool and life is good. All of a sudden, someone yanks the stopper from the drain, that pool turns into a whirlpool and what you were floating on suddenly disappears. There’s nothing you can grab onto, the spinning gets faster and you’re getting dragged deeper and deeper into an abyss you don’t think you’ll ever come back out of. It’s kinda like that.

this is a perfect example of how it is a constant struggle to try and live life with autism on the high functioning side of things, I don't believe people truly understood/understand what its like to live with it and Freddie here did his research well and portrayed this moment very well to the point that I almost cried because I have to live life like his character not to the same extent(as I am a bit higher up on the spectrum) but very similar I love this show just because I can just go to clips like this and show it to those I love and care about and tell them what I feel by using clips like these as examples of my emotions that I have difficulties describing, all and all great show and great acting 10/10

There few roles where a character with a given disability aught to be played by a person with said disability. Acting is a high pressure high stress and highly skillful job. Freddie Highmore has been ridiculously not nominated for any Emmy for too long. Not many actors have the talent or courage to perform like this.

i watch these clips and i love them..i'm happy when he's happy..i'm sad when something doesn't go right..i think this show is fantastic but i don't know if i could on the whole handle seeing every show in it's entirety ..i bawled my eyes out at his pain in this clip..i don't want to see anything bad happen to him..i don't want him to hurt or be sad..i don't like when he's questioned in his knowledge..the overwhelming emotions are just too much....
