Pay attention to every time when Mark is the last to speak, he tells the entrepreneurs what he thinks they're looking for and then sells himself before making an offer. Since Mark's offer was the closest to what they originally asked for, of course they would accept his deal that did go through. As of May 2022 when this show aired, in the US there were 36 store locations, six food trucks, and several concession locations. To date they have 48 stores in the US, over 1000 in Indonesia and have expanded into other countries as well including 1 in Australia - YAY! since we are usually last for products and such compared to the rest of the world (Scrub Daddy were only available in shops last year unless you bought online). It was really cool, Korean guys finally made a deal with Mark. I’m proud of Korea!! Respect!
@lousialb89622 жыл бұрын
There must be something I'm missing because I cannot respect parents who abandoned their children in another country (unless their lives were in jeopardy, which is not the case in Korea). Valuing money over anything else strikes me as strange and kind of deranged. If the parents thought it was so much better in the US than in Korea, why wouldn't they move too? It's cruel to expect an 11-year-old to make that cultural adjustment alone. Looking at it another way, if Korea is so awful that you have to get your children out of there (and I don't think it is), why should people embrace this brand ("Koreans are FUN!")? It's either one or the other; doesn't work both ways.
@mr_toto7 Жыл бұрын
@Lou Sialb I think your missing the point😅 most of the time Korean immigrants are poor. And because that the parents probably wanted to give child better opportunity since america is the best place.

It is easy for people both outside the US as well as within to criticize and see the flaws in it’s governing, society and open market. But sometimes you get to see it working. The opportunities it offers and the meritorious rewards it gives to those willing to put everything in to achieve something great. I think the sharks and everyone picked up on that resulting in a respectful, good vibed, emotional pitch.

They see it. It's just laziness. With immigrants like these they're mentality is different. For them laziness is not an option.
@thembones1895 Жыл бұрын
@@robinabernathy2829 This. Lazy and also entitled. And pepper in the fact that many learn their parent's defeatism and cynicism. It's a cycle really of people being too accustomed and blind to their own prosperity, which ironically also hurts prosperity.

The thing that people who are not good at school make good business owners tells more about how stupid the system we have is and much less about the quality of schooling.

The millionaire sharks were all thinking about themselves. The Billionaire was thinking about the actual product, the people behind it & how it would work as a team venture.
@AsHS72 жыл бұрын
Kevin, Barbara & Lori were focused on getting their money back, hence they offered loans. Robert believed in them but got too GREEDY and offered way more money for way more equity than the guys could, especially since some other investors already take 50% of the profit. Now Mark set back and studied those guys reactions to all the offers. He knew what they really wanted a Shark for was to grow their business. He emphasized on that point and made offer closest to what they were asking for. Bravo Mark 👏🏻👏🏻
