Gran Canaria is part of the volcanic Canary Islands including Tenerife, Lanzarote etc which belong to Spain. They are closer to the west coast of Africa though. They are a favourite holiday destination for the British.

Canary Islands off the coast of Africa belongs to Spain, Inc Tenerife, Lanzarote & Gran Canaria. They are volcanic rocks....with hotels on. Very popular because it is so cheap, a week in a hotel is about £400 per adult and £500 will get you a fortnight ;) and it is way warmer than the UK

Gran Canaria, is the main Island ( Rock) 🤣of the Canary Islands. It has nothing to to with little yellow Birds, it if from the Latin Canaris meaning Dog, it is the root word for canine. They have a particular type of Dog there that is bred from a wild African Dog, they us it for hunting. The Canaries are just off the West African coast, about a 3 hour flight from the UK. It is just a big black Volcanic rock, 🌋most it the sand on the beaches is black, so the imported a lot of sand yellow from the Sahara desert, to make it more appealing for tourists. 🏖

Ricky and Steve are pretty arrogant and ignorant at times. Occasionally, Karl will actually be correct about something but Ricky and Steve will make fun of him for it as if he's wrong. They just assume that they're right and he's wrong in every situation. This is an example of that. Different people think in different ways. Some are like Ricky where their thoughts are purely conceptual or "visual" while others are more like Karl and "hear" their thoughts in spoken language. Some people even have a combination of both. It's currently not fully understood why this is the case but there's nothing strange about it and every version is extremely common. Ricky is only making fun of Karl because he can't comprehend the idea of anyone being different from him. It's like if someone from Spain comes to the UK. It might be a hot day by UK standards but the Spanish person will feel cold because they're used to warmer temperatures. Using his mentality from this episode, Ricky would incorrectly call the Spanish person stupid for saying so.
