Hey man, been watching your videos since before I started riding (I’ve been riding for a little over a month) and a lot of your videos have helped me learn and improve drastically over such a short amount of time. Keep doing what you do, brother.

I started practicing rev matching to downshift. When I do it good it's so smooth, when I don't it suxs! I'm getting there though. More success the failure lately.

Our bikes make the best intake sound. Balanced shifting up or down is paramount to the life of your bike. Engine braking is built into the design. It does not harm your bike

It's fun to do it yourself. It's a skill really.

Yeah I'm practicing this on my mt-07 but I'm always afraid that the bike will lose traction/stability when I suddenly pull or re-engage the clutch...

I've down shifted too fast on an Xr650l and on a BMW R1100S on the street, and at moderate to slower speeds, the rear wheel slide is really predicable. Just don't panic break.

On a slippers clutch u don’t need to do that right ?

you make it look easy 😅😅 I have the problem that the bike always jumps forwards when I downshift - I give it too much throttle input and find it very hard to give the right amount of throttle. Are you starting to give throttle before you release the clutch? Would be nice to see a slow motion clip of the downshift to get a better idea of the timing, you do it so smoothly! I remember I had this same issue when I was learning how to downshift on a car, so I think I just need to keep doing it until I get enough dexterity, but it has been very hard; i've been practicing for over 6 months now since I got my license, and still only get 1 out of 10 downshift perfect on the bike haha Also, are carbureted bikes supposed to be easier or harder to control the throttle? I have 2 SRAD bikes, a '97 600cc carbureted that I ride daily, and a '99 injected 750cc which I'm restoring in my garage - I haven't ridden the 750, but I find the throttle response of the injected bike MUCH smoother than the 600cc one. I was wondering if that's just how it is or if there might be something wrong with the carburated one

It’s really about the friction zone and timing it right with the throttle. When ur learning to do it the bike jerking is normal but with a little practice and timing it will make ur downshifts much smoother! Your carbs need some tuning possibly a cleaning..should always make sure they are clean first..carbs are fine they just require a lot more maintenance and manual tuning because they are mechanical. I prefer fuel injection just cause it’s easier and just better but if it’s a dirt bike or quad I don’t mind if it a has a carb.

Turn ur Bitrate up on ur camera it will give u better overall video/audio quality that helped my audio out a lot I kept having pops and that fixed it. The Mic I’m using is just a cheap purple panda mic with a wind muff over it. I’m sure there is better mics out there for the $..I’d do a little research but I hope that helps.

DO NOT LISTEN TO HIM!!! Yes you should rev match but DO NOT rely on engine braking to slow down. You have brakes, 2 of them! The absolute best way to slow down and brake is the front brake. Learn to use it properly and learn to trail brake. Bikes are designed to be used this way. Also, engine braking, in terms of forces applied to the bike, is the EXACT same as just using the rear brake, which only has like 30% of the bikes total stopping power, and even less the harder you brake. FRONT BRAKE! FRONT BRAKE! Also there is no "learning to engine brake." Engine braking is whenever the throttle is closed. The resistance of the compression strokes of the engine is what is slowing you down, the higher rpm, the more compression strokes per second, the stronger the braking force. Its just closing the throttle, nothing more to it. And not rev matching and slipping the clutch is fine, marginally more wear but it's not "bad." It's literally designed to slip, its a clutch

I have a 2024 gsxr 750. When you ease off the throttle, it almost jerks you forward because it slows so quickly.
@Jason-ip6wq18 күн бұрын
That’s probably because your bike isn’t tuned
@allendawson575218 күн бұрын
@Jason-ip6wq it's straight stock. I would assume it's tuned. Honestly, I don't know much about that. Lol
@Jason-ip6wq18 күн бұрын
@@allendawson5752 get your ecu flashed or get your bike dyno tuned and the engine braking won’t be as intense

Quick shifters FTW. 😂 trade it for an s1000rr
@SpunkyBoyy11 күн бұрын
First off I NEVER do trade ins that’s straight lose money, only suckers do that! I could add a quick shifter to this bike for 300bucks, but I chose not to because it’s just another temptation to speed.
