Keldon Johnson, Malaki Branham, 27 SA FRP, 29 SA FRP, is by far the best offer Utah Jazz will receive. There is no need to overpay, Lauri wants to come here.

This isn't anywhere near enough for the Jazz to move him. Mikal, a guy who couldn't even make an all star team in the East, went for like 6 firsts. The 2027 and 2029 SA first are all but guaranteed to be in the 20-30 range. Keldon and Malaki are fine but not exactly guys you can possibly project major growth from. As far as the last statement "Lauri wants to come here" that's just wish casting as a Spurs fan and I think you know that. Every report is Lauri wants to stay in Utah and that he is going to re-negotiate and extend in Utah. They're the place that turned his career around. It's ok to be a homer but don't be ridiculous with this kind of nonsense offer.

The most I'm willing to give is probably KJ + Atlanta's 25' 1st round, Charlotte's 25' 1st round, our 26' 1st round and our 28' first round, or maybe Malaki instead of the 26' 1st rounder. (Forgive me if this is actually a terrible trade, I'm a kinda new basketball fan from the UK 🥲)

I'm probably more interested in offering Malaki or Blake + a pick for Collin Sexton. I don't think his contact will be going up much and he's capable of giving ~15 points on the bench

To be accurate, Lauri can only be traded until August 6th, when he will resign for the max with the Jazz and his high salary kicks in, which makes him less attractive immediately. Then he wont be able to be traded for 6 months and will be available again on literally a few days before the trade deadline. So there is a timer on this deal, and its literally 13 days. Afterwards he resigns and you have to match salaries and add more players than just Keldon to get there and most teams will be out on him and his value will drop dramatically

Jude - next year we technically have FOUR first round picks. But two of them are unlikely to convey (Chicago is top 10 protected and Charlotte is lottery protected). The other two are obviously our own and Atlanta's (unprotected).

I think Charlotte makes the playoff in the east if Melo is healthy. Chicago probably not, but that one has a chance to convey the year after or the year after. So we should be able to get it unless the Bulls suck forever (they wont cause they love mediocrity)

Apparently, U guys R not taking into account the HIGH expectation that Danny A wants for Markanen. If it was just a couple of pics plus 1 trade, every team can offer that. But Danny wants 5+ 1st rounds, 2 protected rounds, plus 2 trades... that is why Golden State is still negotiating. Danny A is crazy! So expect that level of offer B4 u can even talk about a trade to the Spurs.

I would give them KJ, MB if they want him, our ‘25 pick, Chicago’s pick, Charlotte’s pick, and our ‘27 pick and if they want more a ‘28 swap. If we get Lauri, our picks and swaps won’t be as valuable anyway, Chicago’s might not convey this year and Charlotte’s will turn into 2nds. As long as we keep ATL’s picks and swap in ‘26, we good.

Just pass on him if the jazz aren't dropping the price. KJ and 3 picks are the max since you can't guarantee he'll extend with the Spurs. Remember the Raptors with Kawhi.

Idk if y'all remember, But Brian Wright said they are being "Strategically Aggressive" Let's go back to Jazz and Timberwolves trade Rudy Gobert! jazz traded Rudy Gobert to the Wolves for 5 frps. What did San Antonio do in the Draft at #8 (rob Dillingham) ? Traded to Minnesota for 2030/2031 first round picks, So adding that to the Lauri Markkanen possible trade So Danny Ainge can own Minnesota future for 2 more years is an eye 👀 opener. 2. I'm sorry Spurs fans. But while Picks hold Value, And you have Potentially 4 picks in one draft, The one with most value, is the one you move: Atl pick 2025. Atl pick 2027. 3. So the package will look alot like Spurs Receive: Lauri Markkanen Jordan Clarkson Utah receives: Keldon Johnson Zach Collins Malaki Branham Blake Wesley 2025 , 2027 Atl picks 2030 , 2031 Minnesota picks

Lauri plays an average of 57 games a season for his career, that's 70% of games. He's not even 28 years old. The man will break down before the Spurs accomplish anything. I will not want him on the team playing 70% of games and missing playoff games

The Jazz's first round pick next year is owned OKC but is top 10 protected. The Jazz have a built-in need to dump Markkanen in order to ensure they get a bottom 10 record. Yes, they have two other firsts - but Minnesota and Cleveland aren't going to be drafting in nearly the same position as a tanking Utah could merit. And in this loaded draft they WANT to bottom out.

I would like someone to tell when has a Spurs trade rumor ever come true? Because the Spurs operate silently and always have, if they are broadcasting "trade" its a fake. The Spurs have no interest in paying 4-5 first round picks to get a dude who isn't that great. Is Lauri good? Sure, he's the third best player on a title team. But he's not worth what the Jazz are asking. Similar thing to all the Keldon rumors that always thinks the Spurs will trade Keldon who makes 15m and averaged over 20 ppg in the year before this past one, for dudes who make 5-10m more than him and averaged at best 15 ppg (Cam Johnson) or 10 ppg (Nembhard). None of these trades are real, its just the media drumming up attention in the off season

Keldon averaged 22 PPG in 2022 - 2023 because Vassell was hurt. Someone has to score. If you put Cam Johnson on that 2022-2023 Spurs team bet he can average 22 PPG. Hell for the Nets he averaged 17 PPG his 1st year and they had Bridges who averaged 26 PPG. Keldon is a role player that played 5 NBA seasons and still for some reason thinks he is the star of the team. Spurs just need to dump Johnson for a role player that can actually be a role player and not have a role player that want to be a star because thats not what the Spurs need.
