Hey man I just got an og 404 and the 2KXL, hopefully you can help me figure something out. It looks like you have 1/4th adapters in the Stereo Out of the MPC with an RCA going into the SP 404 Line In, is that correct? I want to start sampling from my turntable but I don't have that fancy one you use with the built-in preamp, so I'm guessing I'd probably need to get a DJ mixer to bring the records up to line level at the very least? Would you sample into the 404 first or the MPC? I feel like sequencing would be easier on the MPC and then you'd use the 404 to add FX before sending it back through the MPC.
@spvidz4 жыл бұрын
Yeah your turntable will need an amp otherwise you wont get a good signal. I make my beat on the 2000XL then use the outputs to go into the back of the SP yeah, you need external source button lit as well. You could do it the otherway around as well as you sample into the MPC so that it has FX already on the samples and then just build the beat on that!
@marcosaruca52834 жыл бұрын
how do you route the xl to the roland

@spvidz4 жыл бұрын
Yo man hard to say really. Maschine do some nice gear thats quite affordable and links nicely with your computer which is good for starting out. I'd say just go with what you like the look of, do a bit of research around it and see if it works for you! Theres youtube vids for everything now so its pretty easy to get an idea of how something works before buying. Hope that helps!

Hey when you find a sample tempo in the sequence do you set the tempo to new?
@spvidz4 жыл бұрын
sorry man really not sure what you mean? I tend to decide on a tempo before I get the samples then work the sample/chops to fit - sometimes I need to adjust a bit but can usually get things to work.
4 жыл бұрын
@@spvidz i meant when you find a sample as discover the tempo do you save as it before using it in a program. For example; if I find the bpm of a sample in the sequence and it plays perfectly after i just chopped it would it be good to save the new tempo as it is, if you understand what I am saying?

Dope ! I always wanted an MPC 2kxl. Thought about getting one instead of the push 2 but ended up going push 2 since it connects with my PC / Ableton. How do you find the workflow compared to the SP? Was it cumbersome to learn ? Definitely still have my eyes on these. Excited to see more MPC vids !
@spvidz4 жыл бұрын
Yeah fair man, i've got a push 1 but I hardly use it to be honest. I already know my way around the mpc so it was pretty quick to learn although there are a few things I'm still scratching my head on. Will need to have a skim through the manual!

@spvidz4 жыл бұрын
Nice one man, any reason for getting CF and not SD?
@multipreach26744 жыл бұрын
@@spvidz I think the sd kit is quite expensive man, you can only read upto 1gb with the cf card even with 2, 4 or 8gb cards. I use the SanDisk ultra 1.0 and its really reliable now. not sure if it will be different with sd cards. you also need the 1.2 operating system installed first before swapping out the floppy drive.
