I had a XL back in 2005 I hated it. The presses was just to long for me to edit but I loved the high cut filter for kicks and bass.

I wish resampling didn't take so long, because 26040hz 12bit sounds amazing. They should have allowed for setting the sample rate and bit depth in the sample recording screen so we can start off with what we want instead of waiting 2 minutes to resample a single piano note...

Yeah it's kind of annoying because you've got 4 banks but can't automatically make a program that will spill over into the rest of the banks. But setting the start and end for 64 zones would be maddening so it's probably a good thing.

@@AfferbeckBeats one of the reasons i grabed a 1000. 64 chops vs 16 is night and day. Love the 2000xl regardless

Yeah, the 1000 with jjos 2xl is untouchable, even today. The speed, fluidity and processing power are barely matched by the x/live,mpc 2.0. The only reason I picked up a live is to have translatability for stemming productions. The 2000xl is a great machine: simplicity inspires creativity. Eq and compression for samples on the way in adds a lot of options, and the 8 output card gives you the flexibility it lacks IF you have the hardware or plugin arsenal. The EB16 is irrelevant to chase down: mpcstuff.com wants too much for what it is, and the power/flexibility isnt there. The nostalgia for those things are insane. Same with the akai mono/stereo filter: the electrix filter factory is a better bang for buck and availability.

Great video! When you chop do you sample a loop and timestretch/warp it to your project BPM or do you use the sample's BPM as is?

Did you have to find the bpm of the sample before chopping ?
