@@rjmun580 All I’m saying is that Russian choirs, particularly of the Russian Orthodox Church, are magnificent. That doesn’t take anything away from the Welsh

Can't beat a Welsh choir, there's no sound like it on earth.

I went to Greenslopes Stae School in Brissy, and in Music class, our teacher taught us how to sing this in Welsh. I still can sing it in Welsh

The first time I heard them in Zulu some 30 years ago, I've had their songs rattling around in my heard. The only song to do so. Beautiful harmony.

...indeed... ...impressive scene...! ...reminds me to another classic, when in 'Cassablanca' the Germans sung 'Die Wacht am Rhein' and the Frech fought back with their 'Marseillaise'...! P.S. Greetings from Germany

Same here. First time I heard a version of the song was Zulu. It’s become the song I listen to when I need a pick me up. Or get revved up for a big event.

Lieutenant John Chard: [the Zulus are chanting before their final charge] Do you think the Welsh can't do better than that, Owen? Pvt. Owen: Well, they've got a very good bass section, mind, but no top tenors that's for sure.

I always thought that sing-off was a goof. On part of history. Because there bloody well should have been one.

Like the quote from zulu .
@Judge_Jej3 жыл бұрын
Hark, I hear the foe advancing Barbed steeds are proudly prancing Helmets in the sunbeams glancing Glitter through the trees. Men of Harlech, lie ye dreaming See ye not their falchions gleaming While their pennons gaily streaming Flutter in the breeze. From the rocks resounding Let the war cry sounding Summon all at Cambreais call The haughty foe surrounding Men of Harlech, on to glory See your banner famed in story Waves these buring words before ye, "Britain scorns to yield!" Mid the fray see dead and dying Friend and foe together lying All around the arrows flying Scatter sudden death. Frightened steeds are wildly neighing Brazen trumpets loudly braying Wounded men for mercy praying With their parting breath. See they're in disorder, Comrades, keep close order Ever they shall rue the day, They ventured o'er the border. Now the Saxon flees before us, Victr'ry's banner floateth oe'er us, Raise the loud exulting chorus, "Britain wins the field!"

@releasethechimp94992 жыл бұрын
Since this entire conflict started I've had an obsession with watching zulu over and over, specifically the part where the zulus try to force the Welsh out on their final push, but the Welsh respond with singing men of harlech. Seeing how the 24th Regiment of foot stood their ground at rorkes drift in 1879 and how Ukrainians, both soldiers and civilians, even their leader standing their ground show too much similarity
