Late to the game on this one. I have the Wharncliffe Delica, but saw this Endura in a local brick and mortar store, so I had to have one. I like bigger knives.

Blade shape is definitely interesting and does make it look bigger than it is when compared to knives like the bareknuckle but it's definitely a chunker I just can't agree with the pricing though. Same price nets you a Cold Steel Code 4 in S35. Maybe the sprint runs would be more worth it from a value perspective but as is 80 bucks is a lot for a FRN and VG10 knife at least imo.
@JTsKnifeLife5 жыл бұрын
I can see what you mean, especially since a lot of the sprints with steel upgrades aren't all that much pricier.

Looks like a great knife but probably a little bigger than I would like to carry as an EDC. I agree about VG-10, I really enjoy the steel but I think it is a little pricey on some models as compared to other steels out there.

Great video! I laugh at all the commenters complaining about the size of the Endura but that is because most days a carry the 12 inch Bear And Son stag Bowie 🤣
@TheKnifeBeater5 жыл бұрын
I can't believe it closes that way, awesome. I know it's not a true forward choil, but it seems like you can choke up more than the standard version. I plan to buy one, but I agree, the price is kinda pushing it. Thanks for the video.
@JTsKnifeLife5 жыл бұрын
It is a pretty cool thing with the action. I like the knife, but sort of wish they would make something in between the sizes of the Delica and Endura. That would be perfect for a wharny. The Deldura. Or the Endelica.
@peachjackson38565 жыл бұрын
Very interesting. This is always a preferable blade shape for me but the size is not something I’ll carry. Laws and just comfort

Now that I'm getting more into larger knives, this one tempts me a lot. Despite the Spyderco VG-10. No likey.
@JTsKnifeLife5 жыл бұрын
For a larger knife I'd probably not want VG10, and yeah, the sprints have better steel for bot much more money sometimes, so it'll be worth the wait.

I have this knife but find it hard to flick open. Do you have any suggestions to make it easier to flick open? I tried WD40 but it doesn't seem to work that well.
@ZPositive Жыл бұрын
Disassemble it, and file/grind down the lock spring. Taking 10% to 20% of the thickness off of the spring will dramatically lighten the lockbar tension. Instant flickable Endura.
@marshalllaw1235 жыл бұрын
That tallness closed though... it's like NONE of the blade goes into the handle. I love wharnies, but I just don't like the compromise Spyderco made in order to avoid designing a different handle. The regular Endura's closed profile is excellent. This is a big flat pancake in your pocket. Mmmm... pancakes...

"Fidget factor" I couldn't see fidgeting with a knife tbh. Kinda asking to get cut eventually if you're mindlessly opening and closing a blade. Get a bolt action pen I say. That'll take care of the need to fidget with something.
@blueeyeswhitedragon98395 жыл бұрын
Fidel Cashflow:- I agree, fidget factor, spydie flicks, super steels, and custom add-ons (eg. Clips, anodizing) are in the purview of knife reviewers, and usually not a factor in the average Joe & EDC.
@JTsKnifeLife5 жыл бұрын
Well, it depends on what you look for. I absent mindedly play with a knife, a lot of times while in working or watching TV or reading. Knives that are fun to fidget with end up in my pocket more. And this happened before I reviewed anything.

The Endura is not a particularly attractive knife to start with, but that wharnie shape is just plain ugly. May be a good cutter, but damn. The VG10 doesn't bother me. You would be surprised how much of a difference it makes if at the end of the day, you strop it. Maybe 5-10 passes on each side. It takes less than a minute to do, and it greatly extends the life of your edge. If you use your knife all day long at work, then yeah..go for a better steel. The Wyvern's frn is very good, and it definitely has that fidget factor. I love mine.
@JTsKnifeLife5 жыл бұрын
Sounds good, thanks for the info on the Wyvern. Also, I think these wharny models might be the rare Spydercos that look better serrated.
