💸 The spyderco endura wharncliffe can best be described as a “four-inch tactical kitchen knife,” making it one of the best all-round urban edc user blades on the market, and the best at its price point. The endura’s stainless steel-lined frn handles are light, strong, ergonomic, comfortable and grippy. The action has a glassy feel to it, and the blade rockets out when spydie-flicked, though one must employ a deliberate flick. (The physics of the blade seems to lend itself to this method of deployment.) But the true star of the show, as it should be for every knife, is the blade itself. The wharncliffe’s long straight edge was designed to slice things. Its full-flat grind makes it even slicier. But the sliciest part of the blade is the tip, which was designed to tackle intricate slicing tasks. (The key word here is “slicey”) The wharncliffe is also designed to penetrate. The tip is an efficient penetrator, as we all know from experience, and the spine steers the blade down and in, at least according to michael janish, designer of the yojimbo and yojumbo. The endura was not meant to be a work tool, unless you slice paper for a living, but it is plenty tough enough for the urban jungle. It will tackle most urban tasks with ease and in a pinch makes a formidable self-defense weapon. The blade is a big four inches, subjectively more massive than your regular endura blade. Its karambit-like design is highly effective at delivering long, deep slices. If you are forced to use the endura as a self-defense tool in an urban environment because you left your 1000-lumen surefire defender at home, the endura might be the best blade for you because deep, long cuts tend have a discouraging effect on people, perhaps even discouraging enough for you to flee in abject terror! For those who live in three-inch states, or for those who live in states where cops use the pornography standard when determining if your knife is a dangerous weapon (“i can’t describe it in words but I knows it when I sees it”), the delica wharncliffe is a sub-3” version of the endura wharncliffe. And for the clinically paranoid, the salt wharncliffe is basically a liner-less delica wharncliffe with an lc200n blade and bright green scales that would give a lime an inferiority complex. This knife does not take itself seriously, which is always an advantage for him who wields it. We also know this from experience. Peace

This one deserves some Ti or sculpted G10 handles... The Endura is an awesome design and this variation is definitely a welcome addition!

Dutch Blades I agree. I’m gonna get some g10 scales to pair with the plum edge. Would love to see sprints of the wharnies. They have the delica sprints but I want a s90 or something dope for this

How did you end up liking it? I'm torn between this and the police 4 lightweight right now.

@@redriver6541 believe it or not, im selling most of my knives because i mostly carry the serrated wharncliffe endura now, it became my top edc knife. i have the police 4 which is pretty sweet too and i will be keeping, but i prefer the endura as its smaller size is more user friendly, easier to carry, etc.......get them both eventually

@@kerpal321 yeh....both is kind of the plan.... I have the matriarch 2, civilian, partially serrated Endura in foliage green, resilience, and a tenacious.....but that Wharncliff blade and that police just call to me.....same as the ronin 2..... Got on a kick of buying BM autos for awhile....and had nothing but trouble with them breaking springs....so my love affair with BM is over.....and I'm back to my reliable old sturdy gal Spydy.....to stay. Lol..... You talked me into it.... I'll get both of them.....but I'll probably try the Wharncliff serrated Endura first. Thanks.

@@redriver6541 the matriarch 2 is also one of my top edcs, that and the wharncliffe endura. also, have you considered the cold steel talon 2? its another awesome edc for under $100, and the design is borrowed from the spyderco civilian/matriarch blade. i dont carry it as much as the others because i prefer frn handles over g10 but its an awesome knife.

@@kerpal321 I have looked at the talon. Wasn't sure about cold steel. Haven't owned a cold steel blade since the early 90s.....but it'll probably end up being in my collection too.....at some point. I'm gonna try to budget myself 150 a month for my blade habit....more if I can pick up side work or OT.....and just see what kind of collection I can build over the next few years. Did that with pew pews and it didn't take long until I had an apocalypse ready cabinet full of awesomeness..... But yeh...to be honest.....Cold Steel is always a company that flies under my radar..... Are they comparable to Spyderco really? If so I don't mind giving them a shot.....
