The PM2 has been my personal favorite for a long time now. I've batoned the hell out of it and the knife suffered zero damage to any part of it. It's invincible. Mine does everything from food prep to EDC tasks to bushcraft and no matter how often I whoop on it the thing just won't die

I have the 'grape' one! IMO, best EDC knife, no questions asked. I find Spyderco's to be boring, but they sure do make great knives. I almost _never_ carry it, for the pure reason that it is just not exciting. Very, very functional though. S110V is really special and CPM only provides it to makers on special condition, hence Spyderco being the only vendor I know that has gotten to work with it.

Do you think that for your comparison video you could baton a Ganzo Para 2 knock-off with the genuine CPM S110V Purplue Spyderco Superknife? That'd be edifying in its rectitude. Thank you. etc
@Player_Review8 жыл бұрын
May as well not risk the knife centering/bladeplay by batoning the PM2, whereas the Ganzo you can just throw away if it has problems. Plenty of other channels have abused the PM2, though I can't say I've seen the S110V abused yet. BladeHQ has done some decent field tests with the PM2, including batoning, and it held up fine.
@brucemcintyre23838 жыл бұрын
Player Review I want the AKB to use the real Para 2 to whittle the fake Paraganzomilitary into pieces. Anybody can split a stick in two with a knife. (Personally, I use a hatchet.) But, if the Knife Brozilla were to cut up the cheesy fake PM2 with the real PM2, poetic justice would be done. Plus, we'd get an idea of what real cobalt-bearing martensitic steel can do.
@Player_Review8 жыл бұрын
Bruce McIntyre Actually, those are some great points. I look forward to his comparison as well. S110V is pretty good stuff, I've only stropped mine so far, and I didn't even need to. Sad days for someone that enjoys sharpening, since with S110V you'll pretty much never have the need to.

I ended up buying like 8 or 10 of those and eventually a proper PM2 and then a PM2 in s110v which is now in the mail. Its still one of the ugliest damn knives in the world and the Spyderco name and retarded spider logo is still silly as hell. Growing up my local malls used to (sad they no longer do) have multiple knife stores, I looked at the benchmades, checked out the kershaws ,and then there they were (As you said) the ugly spyders.. Why a spyder, why the hole, co? It wasn't until I became an adult and my friend gifted me my first Spyderco (the tenacious) did I really begin to appreciate the designs of the company. Now I have multiple knives and I love each one of them, but the PM2 is definitely still king. Also, fun fact Sal Glesser (Founder of the company) said the name came from stylish, "Cutting edge", Italian sport cars that come in a Spyder variant such as Ferrari. The co is company, smoosh them together = Spyderco.

I absolutely hate this steel, and crucible chart about it is such a big fat lie... Its "more corrosive resistant than s30v/s90v"... IF ITS PUT IN A HIGH TEMP SOAK SO THAT ALL THE CHROMIUM AND VANADIUM FLOATS FREE IN THE ALLOY, not in carbide form... But they sure as hell don't tell you how they got those values. Like any knife maker will ever heat treat it like that in the first place. On top of it, with a spot on heat treat and a shallow geometry, it microchips like crazy, even more than s125v. I had the blade of my Manix 2 rehardened by a professional from my country, still the same results. My Kershaw Shallot, same problem even after rehardening and tests done to the steel structure to see if something was wrong, so it was definitely not the batch. I'll stick to S90V or 10V for slicers.

My 110V broke today cutting cardboard. The blade literally split and has cardboard stuck in it. I love this knife but that steel is just too brittle at that thickness to be a user.

@Player_Review8 жыл бұрын
In BladeHQ's testing, the compression lock rated at 462 lbs, making it superior to the liner and also frame lock in that same testing. Unsurprisingly, lock backs proved stronger. The tip is rather thin, but with the heat treat, I don't see it being a problem. Obviously, a fatter tip would help you pry doors open or whatever it is we're doing with the tips of our knives.

Extremely disappointed with the lack of pocket perspective in this video.

For better or worse my videos have been lengthened to include things like this, and extra dick jokes too.

I personally would prefer he not censor his language and really don't even notice. You could be right though, I'm horrible with KZbin knife analytics.

Thanks. This is the second comment I've gotten about language this year. I do take it seriously, and perhaps if more people complained I'd done it down a notch. But I don't know where I would draw the line, because most of my bad language and inappropriate humor is not the f bomb. Then there's already so many videos of me cussing- so how would anyone know? I'm giving it until the end of the year- and if KZbin wants (which I think they do) hair gelled dudes talking into a camera for 20 minutes with a product in their hand, then so be it.

I usually tone it down when working with manufacturers- versus reviewing stuff loaned or on my own accord. But no one notices that. I didn't have one bad word in my review for the Marauder, but no one said anything about that.

think about widening your audience and make it family friendly... the humor and delivery is what stands out, now make it shine!

Your humor is good but you could tone it down a little. Every other sentence doesn't need an added quip. It makes look like your trying too hard and it takes away from the information you are trying to give.

Thanks, but my formula works for my subscribers- who love it. Look at the comments under my videos- if you think I’m being flippant. However most other KZbin knife reviewers abide by your suggestions- so those might be a better fit for your sensibilities. I have been using this formula for years- and with the once every few months suggestion like yours, it’s just not something I want to do at this point. My subscribers wouldn’t like it. Thanks for commenting though.
