940-2 benchmade is better
@nickallen8333 Жыл бұрын
@@houweenieinmyswish5600I own multiple variants of both and disagree. I do love the 940 but the PM 2 has a better grind, better ergos, a more durable locking mechanism and a much more attractive price with multiple steel choices. The 940 is a bit thick behind the edge and the lack of options is a bit disappointing. I do like how the 940 is slim in the pocket but as a cutting tool it’s just slightly behind the 940. Also BMs QC has been absolutely terrible for me.

I don't why anyone would buy a Benchmade Bugout in s30v when you can get a Spyderco PM2 in G10 and S45vn for the same price. I just picked up my S45vn model for 171.99$. That's about the same as a Bugout and it's a way sturdier knife.

Everything, it's the best edc knife ever made. I'm either carrying my CruCarta PM2, or my S45vn PM2. I have like 6 knives of my over 70 that I rotate in and out of my pocket and 2 of them are PM2s. The others are, Chaves 229 Kickstop, Chaves TAK, Kizer Caniferous V, Aluminum Vosteed Raccoon, and my Spyderco Delica 4 in M4. The Kizer and Vosteed are my beaters, the TAK and Delica go in my Hide and Drink pouch, and I carry one of my big 3.

All 3 x knives in the Spyderco 'military' range are good solid utility knives. I've been using a PM2 for 5 years or so as my field knife without issue. Although getting pricey all are well made & their blade designs make them great all round user knives (although some argue the tips are a little thin). There's a great range so you can get a version that best suits your needs. The real plus for these knives is their longevity - it's been tried/tested/used and proven by many.

You can’t go wrong with those knives I just wish all their knives were made in the USA. I don’t know why knife companies that started making their knives in the US makes most of them in Taiwan or China now.
@rpiazza72Ай бұрын
I suspect it’s cost, throw some of the line there, cheaper costs more profit on those knives probably helps the balance sheet. I’m willing to pay more for US made, honestly that’s a plus for me. Not sure that’s the majority of the market though.

For clarification, I say "Really high-end toughness and edge retention that is comparable to S45VN". Wear resistance is very similar. The trade will be corrosion resistance (S45VN) or toughness (Cruwear).
