This is literally the best Spyro news in the past 3-4 years. Because Spyro 4 is probably not coming out any time soon. Also about Activision, Spyro is now licensed under Microsoft, that historically allowed fan-made games.

we got the remaster and while its really good, it kinda feels a little too.... modern. A little too plastic and shiny and made-for-kids in the graphics in my opinion. So yeah, i prefer the original graphics because they were a little more neutral i guess. Sure, its still a kids game, but it's not beating you over the head with that fact.

I love everything about this: the old school Spyro feel, the lovely original music, the sass and meta-lore in the dialogue, the skins, the references to other people in the Spyro community. I don't really pay attention to or care about any other video games, so it's hard to describe how awesome it is that the one series I pay attention to still has such a passionate and creative fanbase that's thriving. I'm so happy for people like her that are making great stuff like this! 😊

If this isn't using the official game's engine, then it's REALLY impressive because it looks almost identical and quite polished. But yeah, finger's crossed this one survives. I just wanna see classic Spyro running natively on PC, especially if it's brand new content.

I didn't have my controller setup, so I used the keyboard and mouse, but the controls and the way it was binded felt like second nature somehow. But yeah, it feels, looks, and sounds 95% like classic Spyro already. Really impressive stuff. If there was ever a decompiled / recompiled classic Spyro PC port: this would be how I want it to feel when playing.

Amazing fangame, it could be the real Spyro 4 that we are still waiting, after all. I hope to see in the future new levels and playable demos but also more news about spring savannah and dream nexus. Something I noticed right near the end... on the Supercharge island, there had been a Vase that had been left uncollected, which normally wouldn't be worth noting. However, after falling for Hunter's bait, I could see off in the distance that it was now a Metal Box like in Spyro 1. Meaning, the Treasure Skin option applies to the containers as well!

This looks amazing and I'd love nothing more than for fan games to be able to fully become realized, but unfortunately they are always under the threat of probable C&D, we know that all too well by now. That's why I believe people should focus more on making their own Spyro inspired original IP's. Games like Zera: Myths Awaken, Nytro, Glyde the Dragon.. Games that can even make it to consoles because they're original IP's. I'll still be following this project and hope for the best though.

C&Ds are not legally significant on their own. It's notoriously used to scare people off but there's no firepower behind it, and it doesn't need a justification. You can send a C&D to anyone about anything with no consequence. It'd be best if the community consulted a lawyer specializing in intellectual property, copyrights, fair use.

After having a go at this myself, I found a dragonfly egg in the level! Very cool nod to the Spyro JP games, kind of a shame you didn’t find it! There’s also a few very scuffed versions of some Year of the Dragon levels. I’m not sure if it was something that unlocked for having 100%’d this level or not, since that was the first thing I did, then explored a bit, went to quit, and noticed the option to exit to adventure select. They’re really just testing grounds, but neat to see in this engine nonetheless.

The joke about the fairy's getting Law-suited over 'brain-damage' was the funniest part for me. When playing 'especially Heroes Tail' I'd use to duck and cover whenever Zoe shows up in-order to save Spyro's poor little mind! I did like those Valkyrie fairy's she put in.
