Yes!!! Folding the mask in half and pulling up the diagonals made so much sense compared to other tutorials I've watched. And only putting in a couple of stitches instead of a whole line is MUCH easier.

I can't wait to make this one. Love your instructions!! I use 2 pieces of lightweight non-woven sew-in interfacing in my masks. Much easier than trying to fiddle with a filter and filter pocket. I tried using one piece of the medium weight non-woven sew-in interfacing but it negatively effects the breathability. 2 pieces of the lightweight are just right.

@gretchenwenzel29064 жыл бұрын
I have been making an endless amount of masks. There is one thing that has helped me save quite a bit of money and it’s all so much more comfortable. Are use a decent quality muslin for the inside piece of cotton that goes against your face. It saves quite a bit of money rather than using printed fabric on both sides that is much more expensive and much softer. Just a thought...Thank you so much for sharing this video!❤️
@mendysmum4 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Muslin on the inside lets the wearer know which side goes against the face (ie not touch). It would also allow better placement of the design. It was sad to see this really cute fabric with an ending of just a unicorn leg or 2, unidentifiable. I'm an EPP'er and fussy cut a lot, so it's hard for me to overlook this.
@gretchenwenzel29064 жыл бұрын
mendys mum LOL!!! I am exactly the same way and extremely picky about how the pattern shows and especially when I making an Olsen mask and the two parts meet in the middle! Too funny. I think we should have meetings every Tuesday for those of us that are so anal! There absolutely is satisfaction in it though when you finish!
@gretchenwenzel29064 жыл бұрын
mendys mum I’ve also been picking my fabric out with the smallest print on it for that exact reason. Being anal means I don’t like wasting fabric, as well!
@spyrorocks3464 жыл бұрын
Oh wow this is so great this is what I’ve been doing since I did the last video on the 3-D facemask and it save me so much money thank you for that suggestion I definitely took that at hand thank you so much for watching so far there in the crafting community everybody helps each other out thank you so much for watching you stay safe now
@gretchenwenzel29064 жыл бұрын
spyrorocks346 You’re very welcome! So many people just use a different fabric, a solid color typically, on the inside so they can tell the difference and that’s still a waste of money. More importantly than the cotton fabric on the inside and outside is putting a piece of interfacing in for a filter that is washable so that you don’t have to monkey with Filter pockets and taking them in and out…and it gives a huge amount of protection. I was a construction inspector working and certified with all types of PPE, OSHA, decontamination units, etc. We can definitely make these masks that give us a great amount of protection and that are very close to N95s. I really enjoyed your video and you did an awesome job with it. Thank you so much for sharing it with us! Life is so simple. Only we complicate it. When we take the time...all work together IN EVERYTHING WE DO it is an absolutely beautiful and miraculous world! God bless❤️

@brendaaustin55414 жыл бұрын
Yes, very cute... What age group do think this one will fit? I use the tiny round elastic rope on my mask ... I ordered 300 yards, just to make sure I would have enough... I've made about 400 masks and have another pile cut and ready to sew.... I usually cut out about 20 masks one day and sew them the next day... And I almost always put a solid color on the back of my print fabric.... And a filter pocket and nose bridge is a must for me... Now, I've got to figure how to put a tiny little filter pocket on this itty-bitty mask. 🤗. Thank you for your video, I'll have to look up your other ones to see what you have that I haven't already made... I've used about a dozen different patterns and the easier the better😁..... 👍
