I'm a serious JM fan and I'm blown away. Never seen anything like this - truly amazing, my absolute hero this guy! I had friends at this festival who chose not to watch JM but watch DJs instead. Fools!!!!! I would have given anything to be there and watch that! Amazing!

Best version of gravity IMO. It's stunning. The solo takes the song to whole new level. You think you've heard it all and then Mayer just floors you and it's unbelievable. He's always been my inspiration for guitar. He may be seen a a dick but I really think he is changing. I've only seen him once but he seems to really be mellowing out. You can even hear it in his music. Love it all. Love people who love him too!

I’d just say he’s misunderstood by the people who choose not to like him. You’re right, maybe at one point in time he was a tad douchey. But indeed, he’s humbled himself down. He’s just a genius trapped in a humans body and figuring out how to do that. Hahaha

@MrNebelful I love mine. The neck is one of the best I've ever felt on a strat, very chunky which makes for comfortable chording IMO. Pickups aren't bad either. I just have the stock ones in mine and it sounds great. Only thing that is different is I had the Treble Bleed mod installed on mine so I don't lose any highs when i turn the volume down. One of the best strats for under 2 grand if you ask me.

@maxisslipknot Steve Jordan made the Winter tour whith John, but then came out another project, so hemove out the Summer Tour, but not like forever!!!!!! So, to replace him in the Summer Tour he get Keith Karlock, and the currently bass player is Sean Hurley, because De'La isn't playing with John anymore, he sort of making a solo career, with the projects that he want to build, you know?

@FannyEssen1 Of course the player/picking style matters but there is no denying the tone out of the guitar itself.

@lukeandrewchesser I agree with a lot of what you're saying and I'm somewhat worried about him hiding from everyone. Let's just keep in mind he's one of the greatest musical minds of this time and hope he pulls out some great music. Also if you listen to early versions of assassin and heartbreak warfare they sound like they would be predictable and boring songs, but they are great. I really do hope he returns to pouring out his soul in the guitar like he did with the trio and continuum though

@samicta I'm a huge John Mayer Fan, but let's be real.. he didn't do anything really that ground breaking on "Where the light is". He is an amazing player, but most of the techniques he utilizes were pioneered long before he was born.
@YogiSizzle14 жыл бұрын
@Tharx89 Did I ever say what he did was easy? No. Honestly though if you ever listened to any blues player that came before Mayer, there is nothing really in his playing that hasn't been done before, period. Trust me I've listened to everything he has ever done, I even have bootlegs from before 1998-1999. Now where Mayer really innovates I believe is in his Chord voicing and progressions.
