To all the people saying it's "Dead" the Squad devs have picked up Post Scriptum, new updates on the way and community has rallied behind it, heaps of servers to choose from again. The graphics might not be as good as HLL and the maps might seem emptier, but the game play is far, far superior.

The gameplay is the main cause i've fallen in love with this game, the guns feel awesome, and HLL doesn't get far from that, and is still very enjoyable WW2 hardcore game like Post Scriptum. Both have they own beauty IMO

Tbh, finally glad to see healthy competition between HLL and S44(PS). Hell Let Loose is just on its way to recover from terrible changes, with new factions, patches, and additions. While Post Scriptum rebrand to a Squad 44 and long awaited promise of new content basically revived the game at least at this point

I switched to HLL at that time because there was nothing going on in Post Scriptum. The servers were sometimes completely empty in the afternoon and only at certain times of the day you could play. If that now changes, then there is nothing to prevent a change back.

I'm so happy the devs from Squad picked up PS. I finally bought the game because of that and I'm really excited to see the direction they take it. After getting into Arma, HLL just doesn't have enough interesting character mechanics to mold it's pacing into a game that really feels like a milsim. So I hope PS gets revived because I feel like it will be the perfect balance between the two extremes in the genre.

People say the graphics aren't as good as HLL, but I can't really see a difference, if anything it's better because the treads actually fell off the tank. HLL it just sparks like a trick birthday candle.

I think people confuse map design and environment to graphics. Personally I think Post Scriptum has better graphics, better lighting, better textures, better colour grading and better effects, however it does lack in environment when compared to HLL but that's because a lot of PS maps came 3-4 years before HLL.

Post scriptum has better graphics but can look really ugly sometimes because of the vibrant colors and the grass not rendering at distance; while HLL has a dark filter that makes eveything looks better and has flat maps which look better overall. You can see how on the correct lighting and shadows Post Scriptum looks amazing, but when you have a mid-day battle with no shadows, everything looks bland and too clean, also, the colorfull and almost cartoon-like textures don't help. Everything should blend in realistic graphics like HLL does, or get improved on like squad is. Just to keep it clear, i preffer Post Scriptum than HLL, but it is a fact that HLL does better graphically than Post Scriptum by good decisions the devs made. Now, if they manage to fix PS's graphics, it will surely surpass HLL every way.

​@@robstone7325 Because Hell Let Loose is still very much a normie game with mostly constant action (average CoD player thinks it's a hardcore ww2 game, no it's not, the only "hardcore" thing about it is the fact that guns actually do damage.. as they should) and it kept getting updates with active developers, while PS is more slowpaced and a bit more niche, and the original developer just couldn't keep on updating and developing the game further properly. Now that the OWI picked it up, it sees plenty of players, new and old, coming in.. that shows that players just mostly lost hope with the original developers, rather than with the game.. I like HLL, when you get a team where people actually talk and squad leads know what they are doing, it's an incredible experience, but PS is just a little bit closer to what I would consider a "hardcore" immersive WW2 game.

Stop with this HLL vs PS war, they are both the best WW2 games in the market, and i simply like Hell Let Loose for how immersive it is, and how realistically (or believable )despicts de conflict with the graphics, sounds etc... as well as being my first try in this kind of games. It makes you feel like a WW2 game as well as Post Scriptum or Squad 44 does, so, for god sake, both communities have to be united against the crap AAA games do with WW2, and be together in two games that are amazing at immersing the player in a WW2 combat with authenticity.

Just bought Squad 44 (Post Scriptum) and played today it makes HLL feel like battlefield lol and it though it is also unoptimized I haven't gotten any stutters like how I do in HLL I would always also stutter when ads zooming in HLL but not in Squad 44 also way more communication

Every time I've tried to run PS, it crashed or has some horrible sfx glitch. Never ran well, It sucked because for the short time i did get to play, it was great. I gave up and have been playing HLL since, only thing I wish HLL had was this games sounds

While there is a lot to like about Squad 44 the layout, design and look of the maps are garbage. The foilage is especially poor along with building design. I wish HLL had the gunplay, available weapons, special effects and sound.

I'd argue about map design. From an immersion perspective, yeah, they lack destruction and detailes, but than I look into hll maps which often force players to storm through 3-4 chunk points, and I'd better play ps maps

Gunplay and movemente feel way better than in hll. In hll there's always a delay about half of a second between one action and another, you fire a rifle, wait until the animation is over, wait a little bit more, that perform bolt action, wait a little bit, aim, and repeat. In ps you can start loading the rifle right after the shot, and aim right after you've loaded it. Same goes for movement and all actions with all weapons and equipment
