Did you decide to turn off stabilization Jack? It does smooth out the trails a lot in that you don't get the true roughness. But makes it easier to watch.

It struggles in low light conditions. Checkout past 16:30 when it's well lit, it performs well..

Aye when its dark the camera drops frames for exposure and so stabilization has less to work with. Physical and technical limitation when they are hard on the gas like that.

There are GoPro options to stabilise the footage and on rough trails it's still fine.

@@exhibitD79 Bernard Kerr has one of the most stable GoPro settings. He must have turned on horizon leveling at times but on terrains with poor lighting, his Gopro clips looked like it was taken by a Hero 3, shaky and low quality.

Set your minimum ISO to 400 or 800 in these conditions. Will force the GoPro to adjust by using a faster frame rate and keep the stabilization working fluently.

If you've got the time, I highly recommend the heli drop in Perberton. It's become a thing it seems but my mates and I did it back in the early oughts with no one in sight. I feel like kind of a dick, but the pilot fit us in between fire fighting missions! Drop on Top! 1000 foot free ride to the lake and a generous ride back down. And just driving through Pemberton is worth the trip. Having watched more... The trail in Pemberton is more horse and mule built, flat out traverses as opposed to Sweet Straight Down Loamers! Fun all the same! And well worth a day out, if there aren't too many fires in the area... And the World Cup needs another DUSTER! Bring back Mammoth or Big Bear. Crystal Mountain, Washington was a really fun one that only held one really fun race.
