I really like watching both players, and it's unfortunate that Gautlier's defeat was paved by his own mind.

What an unbelievable performance from Gawad. Absolute legend.

A "legend"? He's just reaching the top echelons of the sport in the past few months.

You can say what you want about Gawad, but he's definitely got one of the most entertaining styles to watch.

Can't wait to see Gaultier return from injury at the TOC 2020. The man is a living legend and squash is definitely much more entertaining with him on Tour. Hope he will have what it takes to challenge the top guys and get to the top five (or higher) once again.

A lot of complaints about refs decisions,, I am amazed!! Before complaining make sure there are no racial biases in your opinions or comments, and be civil it is a sign of maturity and good sportsmanship. Thank you.

some bad calls but gawad convincingly won that one. impressive how gawad turned the tables after the 1st game but gaultier's game couldn't adapt.

Although I did want Gaultier to lose but not like this😏... His mind let him down. But I got to give it to Gawad he took his game to another level and his rhythm was close to impossible to break

I guess the match point was pretty much as a stroke but the whole match was awesome

Can anyone explain the no let decision in game point of game 2?
@piwchix8 жыл бұрын
t3tsubo it should be a let ball! Worst decision ever...
@agustinabello3598 жыл бұрын
I think gaultier can hit the ball perfectly, his raquet ir next the ball. That is my opinion

Jānis Bogušs it might even be a stroke , but it is closer to a let tho. And its definatly not a no let.
@waellasheen97688 жыл бұрын
I disagree 1-he was not playing the ball he ran into his opponent instead 2-If he had a chance to get the ball he had to run infront of Gawad, he was probably too tired to attempt that 3-running behind Gawad was a no let because it already bounced twice ahead of him Good call

t3tsubo yeah it was a really bad decision 😀

I think ref's complicate the thinking behind lets/no lets. The decision at around 4 mins was a basic let. All the talk about lines and suchlike takes away from basic common sense. In this instance, there was reasonable contact between the players, the ball was loose and reachable and so should've been a let. Anyone who's played the game for a while knows when a player is trying it on and 'fishing' for an easy point. This constant debate is such a thorn in the game - if ex-pros such as Joey and PJ are scratching their heads after these decisions, then what hope for the rest of us??

I've got the say the referring has been horrible this tournament. Consistently poor decisions. An obvious let in the second game ruined what looked to be a great match. Gaultier let it go and Gawad played fantastically after the first two games.

that was clearly a let ball, to hard on gaultier that time

La bataille commence, not "se commence". Guys stick to commenting, foreign languages are not your strenghts...
@watching991348 жыл бұрын
I thought they said "C'est commence" not "se commence". Anyway if you want to criticize their language skills how about clarifying that bizarre comment about "pasta and garlic for takeaway"?

This has to be the tournament with the worst refereeing so far, they have not evolved at all with the pace of the game and sticking to completely wrongful decisions.Horrible when the referees bad decisions effect the outcome of the match.
