My boy scout leader was a WWII Combat Engineer with cool gruesome stories. He could cook anything (literally ANYTHING) like nobodies business on open fire or hot coals. He made chicken gizzards as tender as the hearts. We never ate our apples without asking if he would make them in cobbler after we peeled them. Lots of men cook really good; just not me. I had never seen yellow squash used for squash pie! We use yellow squash in a casserole with squash and onions and eggs (like a quiche, I guess). Up north, we make squash pie with winter squash (I use buttercup :) but I suppose you could use butternut or acorn) ---- technically, yes, much the same as pumpkin pie, but we still call it squash pie! 😂😂 Glad to hear Charlotte's on the mend. Well, I’ve never heard of this, and it sounds and looks soooo good! Plus, it’s healthy! You cook like I do. I get very bit out of a bowl or whatever. I even got some small spatulas that will fit into a mayonnaise jar etcZ I clean everything out, waste not, want not. I don’t know if you have a P.O. Box or not, but I’ll send ya those small spatulas. I think my favorite part of this video was when you showed the table with all those beans on it. What a beautiful sight and brought me back to growing up. Also when you put the nutmeg and cinnamon on top, my great granny made egg custard pies and did that. Goodness, ive not had that in so long! So good to come in and have a cold piece of egg custard pie with your own eggs and milk etc and take a break. Y’all have a beautiful life. The way it’s meant to be. Looks like a good recipe to try out. Most 'pumpkin pie' cans in the store are actually squash. you can also substitute sweet potatoes for pumpkin in pumpkin or squash pie, try that next ;) ... by the way, how is the hominy corn and sorghum progressing? The most famous chef in America is a man. Bobby Flay. Nothing wrong with cooking hun. I know many a men who cook even better than their wives. But I do have a question, do the pies taste savory or sweet. I want to try this but I am the only person in my family that eats squash.

Maybe both, it is my favorite. You need to try it

Lol.if you can't cook you don't eat..its not funny it's self sufficiency!! My 11 yr old sons friend visited n he told me he was hungry?? I said ok well boil some eggs n we'll have eggsalad sand.. His eyes popped out of his head he was afraid of the stove? He's not allowed to go near the stove?? What!!

And there aint nothing wrong with a man who can cook, when my wife works all day I try to have supper ready for her when she comes home. We had venison burger stuffed green peppers fresh out of the garden for supper tonight. Like they say on the Red/Green show, if women dont find you handsome, they better find you handy.

There is not a thing wrong with men that can cook. My Sister is marrying one and she seems thrilled 😂 The pie looks yummy. I don’t have yellow squash. But I might peel a zucchini and try it instead. Yeah, I think all pie needs to cool good before it’s edible. Warm pie is yucky 🤮 glad Charlotte is feeling better. Maybe school makes her school? It had that affect on me lol

Good job on those pie’s. You are a catch that’s for sure. Wished I lived closer to you, I would watch those sweet girls so you could go out looking for you a good woman. You and the girls need a good woman to take some stress off you.

Only bad thing about those spatulas is they clean up batter too much. Lol. Gotta leave a bit for the “baker person”.
@metcalfmills56792 жыл бұрын
Yes they do, but that is a good thing when the baker person has one 😆
