My training log: forum.bodybuild...
My best 20 rep squat to date. My training partners said it looked like I had a few more reps in me, but I couldn't take the mental anguish of banging out more than 20 today.
I haven't decided yet if this is the end of my squat accumulation phase or if I'll extend it one more week. As you can see in the video, I've started adding in some heavy singles to condition my body to them.

Insane to think when I watched this as a young middle school kid I was maxing at around 185 lbs on my squat and now I'm squatting 600 lbs without equipment and 700 lbs with wraps. Thank you for many years of inspiration!

+crazyweirdomimicers hes young bro, im 22 all you need to do is eat, quit worrying about your fucking abs, lift some heavy ass weight and sleep. I see so many people my age dead lifting like 45 pounds for reps or squatting 1 plate on each side and i just dont even know what to say, You have the most testosterone you will ever have in your life natrually at this age and if you push a heavy weight hard your bodys going to go oh shit lets release more. And so many people dont eat, they're so concerned about their beach six pack they cant even bench 150 its a joke. Take some fucking adderall if you want to live like that you dont even need to work out.

My God this is another example of determination, attitude over self doubt, confidence over fear. Very, very few people can train like this and that's why this type of training isn't for everyone because few are willing to train this intensely. That's ok, it's good that it's set up like this so that means more room at the top for people like Andy. Amazing squat technique. No wraps, no suit, all athletic ability. Love it.

There are so many crap videos of squats on youtube, many of which, embarrassingly, have titles along the lines of "the perfect squat" or "textbook squat technique". This is one of the first videos I've found where the Squats actually are perfect, or very close. There really wasn't any flaw I could pick from them. Thank you, and please keep posting!

@@idonaveh5343 You really don't understand anatomi do you? If you have yhe bar lower you will lean forward and then involve the back, adductors and hamstrings more. @idonaveh5343
@idonaveh5343 2 жыл бұрын
@@PappaAlvaro 90 pages about the squat? Almost a novel. The squat is not meant to work on your hamstring, it’s a pushing exercise mainly for the quads and off course other muscles as well that are functioning in order to keep your torso upright as much as possible (mainly the core). The exercise for the hamstrings and posterior chain is the deadlift and all the different pulls. As I told you- a low bar squat was not an exercise up until the 60’s where powerlifting was born, and they did it as cheat in order to lift more weight. It’s the same as that sumo deadlift cheat. The guy in the film is doing a perfect technique high bar (Olympic) squat. This is the only way the squat should be done. If you move the barbell down, you distort the whole drill and lose what it should give you.

There are good reasons to use supportive gear in some circumstances, as well as good reasons to not. You can read about these elsewhere. But the main reason that I avoid using supportive gear as much is possible is simply that it artificially inflates my numbers, and I'm more interested in knowing how strong I am without resorting to such aid. Raw lifting is both 1) more aesthetically pleasing (IMO) and 2) provides a better basis for competition with other lifters.
