Covid is just the distraction, while we struggle with masks or not, vaxx or not, employment or not our elected officials and bureaucrats behind the curtain are quietly removing our private property rights, our right to travel, our right to assemble, banning protest, our ability to use cash money and bringing in digital id and digital currency and now seizing peoples bank accounts. TOTAL ENSLAVEMENT ! Until the people wake up and you impact the World Economic Forum affiliated politicians and big businesses that run government and are supporting and driving the lock downs, nothing is going to change. The World Economic Forum, the United Nations UN Agenda 2030 and government controlled media are our biggest threats. Covid is the mechanism by which they are destroying the middle class and private/mom and pop businesses. Many of our government officials including Federal MP Chrystia Freeland, Conseritive Michelle 'Pronouns' Rempel, Federal NDP leader Jagmeet Singh and BC Premier John Horgan (and i am sure there are many more) are affiliated with the World Economic Forum (you will own nothing and be happy). What little democracy we have left is in the process of being subverted. Our elections are supposed to "feel" organic and grassroots but these people are groomed and then presented for us to "elect" and then they magically do the opposite of what we want them to do. They are going to tax you out of your car with $10 a litre gas and force you to live in their smart cities, when will you say ENOUGH?! The whole idea is to print money till they destroy people's savings through low interest and high inflation and collapse the dollar and bring in a one world digital currency, add to that more crushing debt for our grand kids to never be able to pay off. All that is required for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.“ Edmund Burke [“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.”] An evil enemy will burn his own nation to the ground to rule over the ashes.' - Sun Tzu IF this message resonates with you please share with others as i am shadow banned and can not make a direct comment. To get real old "skool" solidly built, well over engineered machinery restored, the research, the meticulous detail into every single nut, bolt and washer - or shim - expertly documented and narrated is such a bloody satisfying thing to watch and listen to. Thank you , Toby. I enjoyed senior's vid too, hoping that some one would sort that mag tester out - I thought of Kenny like many others. Also hope he gets some more sap out of those trees! We are a week away from a finished project. It’s a pleasure to see all your meticulous work come to this. It’s worth mentioning how not-dirty your hands were after the build: it speaks to how exacting your work has thus far been. The fact that you are able to run all your threads down by hand is also testament to your eye for detail. There’s a small corner of me that’s disappointed to see this project come to its conclusion: it’s a real pleasure to see you work and bring together your innate skill, your demanding standard and your immense knowledge. Thanks Squatch. I am waiting on my resto coming back from paint. When that happens, I will be documenting the restoration just as you have. I have learned a great deal from you and the techniques you use: welding out a seized race is a great way of shifting it! Thanks again. Peace.

I first saw a D-2 in 1980. A bridge contractor whose yard was across the road from ours had it. The owner told me he was going to restore it and teach his grandchildren how to be Cat-skinners. It looked to be complete, and in about as good shape as yours was when you started this project. The D-2 is proof that superior engineering is timeless. I can almost feel the master clutch snap in and out. Great job!

So I´m planning on making it work again, gotta fix a lot of things like the alignment on the sprocket and the rollers, fix the pony motor carb and a lot of leaks and problems, it was running good when parked, but the elements must have done some damage. Thanks for the info!

I think it's a "castellated" nut instead of an "acorn" nut. Acorns look like small domes on top, castellated nuts look like parapets, with notches cut for the bowmen on top of the castle wall.
@johnwythe14094 ай бұрын
Never heard of that term "castellated". Usually just call them castle nuts, but those are usually flat on the bottom. This one has a round "bottom" to fit into the pocket on the lever. Acorn castle nut anyone? lol!
@johnwythe14094 ай бұрын
I just read up on castellated nuts. Learned something new. Castle nuts vs slotted nuts. On castle nuts the "turrets" are rounded and not full out to the end of the nut so the cotter pin can be bent around without protruding outside the diameter if the nut. On slotted nuts the turrets match the shape of the nut. So technically I guess these are slotted acorn nuts. :)

When i used to be a gas powered forklift operator, i always used to adjust my clutch/brake adjustment so that i had positive brake action as soon as i hit the clutch. As standard they always seemed to have a dead spot where the clutch was activated but no braking application.
@larrywalker77592 жыл бұрын
I understand your personal preference for adjustment, and that is fine, if you don't mind increasing wear to the clutch discs. The idea for having the second pedal to "disable" the transmission is so the operator can speed up the action of the load hydraulics independently without having to move the direction control to neutral. Proper use of the left pedal is done when the forklift is at a standstill or very near. The forklift OEMs intend for the left pedal adjustment to COMPLETELY deactivate the clutch packs before the brakes begin to apply so that clutch plate slipping is held to the minimum and not wear them out so quick. If the left pedal is adjusted so that the brakes begin to apply before the clutch packs are released, you might not be completely disengaging the clutches, and that means the clutches are slipping against each other while power is applied to them with the brakes applied. The biggest objection some operators have with the OEM adjustment scheme is that the OEM adjustment makes the left pedal feel like you have no brakes at first (compared to the right pedal). Clutch plates should only "slip" against each other for the brief split second when the travel direction lever is shifted from or into NEUTRAL, and that should only be done at low engine idle RPM.
