@Weightlifting House - you'd be surprised by how varied their training has become, I'm personal friends with some of them from the national team (won't say who) but they let me in to see a workout recently, they do strict presses, power snatch/cleans it's much better than it ever has been, PED use is also not as prominent as you might think in some of them not in all. They are great guys but our federation is really corrupt just like every other weightlifting federation and I'm not sure if we'll ever see some of them again.

if anything I feel their training is much closer to the Chinese now w/ all these heavy squats and snatch pulls so close to competition. On top of that, both Nasar and Andreev's clean tech is similar to the stereotypical very long pull w/ high contact point of the Chinese, pretty different than Bulgarians of the past.

they will compete with Tiantao in the future four years in 89kg. I remembered Tiantao can do 217 kg clean jerk and 178 kg snatch in 2014 and at that time tian was only 85 kg.

Unfortunately the latest news doesn't sound promising for him. According to the police report he has been caught driving without a license under the influence of alcohol and drugs. He personally denied all this in a TV interview. Because of this he is out of the National team camp that prepares for the World's Championship at end of this year. All this may lead him to switch countries.Early on this year Qatari official already offer Karlos, Bozhidar Andreev and another junior weightlifter millions to potentially represent Qatar in Paris 2024. So who knows 😏
