I've been in several situations landlords abused my trust in them. Even i was very dissapointed and angry at them i always kept my decency and paid every penny i owned them while they didn't deserve it and left the property extreemly clean behind me. No way a landlord ever can say i was a bad tenant. It learned me to be more careful renting a place and trust verbal agreements. Every promise written down and signed. When they are serious they don't have a problem with that do they?

Never ever lend or sign on to help family or friends. I made the huge mistake years ago and lent someone $1500 . A lot of money in the late 80’s. She never paid me back even after I won in court. I gave up and hope karma caught up with her. My gut said no no no don’t lend the money. I didn’t listen and paid the price. If your gut is telling you to run do it!!!

Your right it's a difficult decision. I'm of the opinion that if you have a kid and you had to choose between paying the landlord or feeding your kid you'll do the latter. Never be a guarantor ever. I am reasonably well off but would never do it ever for any of my children - it can sour relationships. If they cannot afford a place then they should be letting it. On the Bristol one I hope he got it secured, cleared and sold because there are far too many lay abouts in that area keen to steal land and squat.

If you couldn't afford the rent then they wouldn't agree to rent the property to you as they have to do financial checks. The purpose of a guarantor is to cover the landlord in the event then tenant can't pay, as circumstances can change.

Oh Alan, I'm so sorry. My daughter is an addict. I tried everything to help her, but after 12 years and her stealing thousands of dollars from me, I finally had to put her in God's hands so the stress didn't kill me. She is now missing. But she abandoned her son so now I'm raising a 5 year old. I'm 58 and disabled. I work as much as I can, but we are struggling. Mostly, I can't wrap my head around how anyone could treat their parents with such abuse and disrespect. And just dump their child. So I get it when Alan said he doesn't want to see his son. I want to know my daughter is okay but don't care to see her. Maybe time will help but for now it's just too painful.

But as far as the cops telling someone to leave a property and they are refusing, there's no way the cops are leaving without removing that person or people, even if that means using flash bangs and/or tear gas. MY HEART IS BREAKING. how could u do this to your clearly wonderful dad. 90 years old and instead of living his best years he is in tears and paying off his kids debt. 😢💔 bless his heart. I pray this wonderful old guy gets a break soon. 😢
