I swear Chad, you have that old school look about you, like a nice version of Bill Kazmaier. A real strength athlete!

Hey Chad thanks for the response. I really enjoyed watching this raw lifting footage. Sometimes it's just inspiring to see people lift. It's not often you see people put up numbers like this in your everyday life and that's what people get hooked on!

The Big O Hey I just ordered my first pair the other day!

The Big O I have a lot of different ones but probably wear the Stay Cool 3/4 Compression Boot Cut and Stay Cool V2 Compression Tech Shorts the most. Use JTS for 10% off and free US shipping.

Shoulders tight lately Chad? I thought you advocated grabbing the bar? Great vid!

Yea I do and if I was taking a max I would get closer hands but it doesn't make a big difference to me on high bar and is easier on my elbows.

I'm a big fan of your videos. Just curious! That gym looks amazing! Any tips for keeping the low back safe during squats? I feel like this topic isn't covered and cued as much. Everyone talks grip, foot positioning, upper back tightness, bracing, and maintaining a neutral spine. However I never hear low back safety come up in the discussion. I recently lost positioning and injured myself fairly bad squatting a weight I had hit before for a 5 rep set. I remember noting feeling "folded over" more by the weight that day but nothing in my body alarmed me to stop. In previous sets I felt fine, and I hadn't failed a squat rep in over 3 months. The loss in positioning was so abrupt and I had been so consistent for so long that the error confuses me even though I know what happened technically. (Back rounded) I'm a bit baffled and that led me to notice NO ONE ever really talks about cues for lower back during the squat. Or so it seems. Any nuggets of wisdom would be appreciated.

Bracing and neutral spine are how you do it. Watch Breathing 101 and read Lumbar Spine Rehab Part 1-3

Where you shoulders tight on this day? Becasue you grip was much wider than I've seen in other videos and I know you advocate as close a grip as possible. Or are you just trying something different.

Paul LeClaire close hands doesn't affect my tightness on high bar like it does on low bar so I've just been keeping them wide for less stress on my elbows and improved bench training.
