Standing in front of a mirror and comparing the good with the bad leg, by looking and feeling the difference attempting one legged knee flexion helped me a lot and I came up with the following: Doing a half squat I march in place, lifting each leg no more than an inch. This cues my body to keep the hip stable. After this I can comfortably stand upright on my right leg (the problematic one) and just bounce in knee flexion painlessly. Not doing this cueing exercise first feels all lose on the right side. The glutes don't work in unison with the quads and my torso leans over and twists which gives me knee pain. Attempting knee flexion with the right leg looks like shown here. You feel like you have no muscle control. I was standing in front of the mirror asking myself why my body just didn't want to, because that's exactly the feeling I had.

Torsion? Idk what you mean, can you elaborate?

@@Morecolour simply put it’s when one hip bone tilts forwards and the other stays where it is or tilts back
@Morecolour Жыл бұрын
@@scazscaz1348 there isn’t an exact cause for that because that happens when you have a big muscle imbalance. Have you been doing side bends or have you been using inserts in one shoe?
@scazscaz1348 Жыл бұрын
@@Morecolour I’m aware there’s no exact cause but that’s not what I’m asking for either. I’m simply asking the best ways to address it in terms of mobilising, stretching and strengthening. No I haven’t been doing side bends or wearing insoles

This makes me wonder as to why this happens. Is the weak resistance to adduction caused by muscle weakness or is it from weak mind-muscle connection and lack of ability to consciously stimulate the muscle until that is practiced?

I’m scared to work my legs out. I don’t roofing and I’ve spent the better part of 20 years on my knees for 30 hours a week. I don’t walk with pain but when I do any squatting it hurts right above my knee cap for at least 2 days. Would this help me in my case?

Stability drills generally help everyone. If you're looking for knee specific solutions, I definitely recommend the ATG program by Ben Patrick. It helped my knees a lot after 6yr in the military. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKjYaZlqZ9d_q6s&si=EnSIkaIECMiOmarE
