Those are all valid and good points mate. My friend took me to inspect an old bike he wished to purchase. The seller didn’t have a better in it, because it was stored for 10 years. I drew some fuel from the the tank and the fuel was dark brown. That told me that the tank is corroded and the carbs would be gummed up and would require rebuilding. My friend decided to not purchase that bike.

I have an rninet equipped with the same tractor/boxer engine, tbh I think it better suits a low- slung roadster than the top heavy R1150GS it was designed for. That said, enjoy your grumpy old man videos, keep them coming

Thank you, I e had a few “boxer variants” over the years starting with an R100, I find the low slung weight makes for a steadier high speed low lean corners. That said, it is more at home carrying weight and slugging up steep hills, I have always insisted it is the best two wheeled tractor ever made😂👍🏻

Some good tips for prospective buyers there on how to avoid the pitfalls when buying a used bike. I was took a mechanic friend with me when buying a little 80cc trail bike for my son to run around fields on. Pretty soon we discovered it was lacking compression and needed new piston rings, I felt a little bit miffed that he didn't pick up on that 😕

I will sell mine... it is to heavy... faulty brakes and abs.... hard to find parts... it is soo heavy..... tenere for the win.
