@videoaddict961 🤣🤣🤡🤡 Italy didn't got robbed, they had a chance to convert their try, the kicker missed. Plus, you didn't even compete to win the tournament. So the loss isn't a big deal. Plus you get a new chance to win in this 6 nations tournament every year. WHEREAS France got ROBBED in the WORLD CUP that even World Rugby ITSELF recognize they did 3 mistakes in refereeing against France. And France were ACTUALLY COMPETING TO WIN THE WORLD CUP. AND THE WORLD CUP IS ONCE EVERY 4 YEARS. SO NO, ITALY DIDNT GET ROBBED WORSE THAN FRANCE DURING THE WC. CURB YOUR FACTS.

because he's more of a hype analyst really, I like Squidge (for the most part), but he tends to over-analyse a lot of situations. Rugby is very much a sport of preparing scenarios, and then relying on player interpretation as unforeseen situations unfold. Squidge likes to credit most of it to intent. His videos are enjoyable to watch, but I don't think his observations would be that useful to professional outfits. But respectfully, this is just my opinion.

Italian fan here, to be honest no regret for that kick, it was bad luck nothing to blame to the ref. As supporters we don’t care that much for the result, but we mainly ask our players to compete every game and give their best, that’s what they did sunday and we are extremely proud of that. For the first time in our history we have a young golden generation of talent, hope we can do something great in the next seasons

@@jacquelinligot7893 lol what a takeaway. this is a good French team (despite their shocking discipline), everyone and their granny knows that the French cheated their bollocks off with the carry on for the penalty. The ref was weak and the French capitalized. I don't think people are bashing the French per se, rather the unsavory way the match ended. France should probably be joint bottom of the table with Wales.

I really love how you're pointing out Italy's great dummy lines in the build up to the try. These believable dummy runs were missing the last two years. Like we had runners, but even as an amateur, you could see from a mile away they were only going through the motions and never expected to get the pass, which in turn makes it very difficult to play expansive ball in hand rugby. This is what we were missing and together with the improved defense, it really seems like we finally have built a rounded game capable of winning matches

All the ingredients were present for an upset: a French team in full post-World Cup spleen, slow in every areas, no dupont, ntamack, jelonch, aldritt... danty red card, a last minute penalty. As a french fan, I was sincerely sad for Garbisi, I didn't care to see these depressive blues lose.

Just a few things. Italy's defence was brilliant, utterly brilliant. Last time I saw a defence being that efficient, it was from the Springboks. It felt like they were doing what England was trying to do. But better. The way that Italian team just seemed to "click" all of a sudden out of nowhere says a lot about their head coaches. The current one, of course. And their former one as well... Seeing France struggle with their changes in the coaching staff makes the soon-to-be return of the Springboks with brand new coaches all the more interesting. Wonder if we'll see them struggle, like France, or immediately find their rythm, like Italy ! Also, Squidge, shame on you ! You offer up a NordVPN discount weeks after I bought my subscription ! Shame ! xD

It is almost impossible for any team to improve when they are being beaten in every game, but kicking Italy out of the 6 nations is not the answer. We need to expand rugby and the World Cup showed there are some Tier 2 teams with huge potential. I think we should expand the 6 Nations to 8 teams, split into 2 pools. each team plays the others in their pool once, with the top 2 from each pool going into a knock out phase semi final and final to decide the winner of the championship. The bottom 2 teams in both pools also go into a knock out phase to win a Plate competition. The losers of the semi finals in both the championship and the plate go into a 3rd/4th place game to sort the seedings for next season with the loser of the 3rd/4th place plate competition drops out of the competition for the next season to be replaced by the winners of the Rugby Europe International Championship This format would take no longer to play than the current championship with teams playing the same number of games. It gives all teams a number of winnable games each season to develop and improve and provides a route into high profile competition to every team in Europe. Teams like Romania, Portugal, Spain, Georgia and others would benefit hugely from this.

> What is wrong with France right now ? Well nothing is wrong with french national team, I would say thing are going pretty smoothly in comparison of how the national team plays. France should be last with zero point but somehow is third. The state of french national team was expected as the outcome of France results in the last world cup. France gameplay up to world cup was a huge effort from clubs, player and federation to make it happend. France lost in a very controversial game and all actors are quite cross by it for very different reason and overall champagne rugby can't be performed if those three don't play hand in hand. - Clubs, who don't care about international competition, want their player back and don't want to here from national team until in 4 years. - Players don't think World Rugby is an organisation worthy to waste time in regards of numerous controversial games that happend during last World Cup and more importantly how it was handled. - Federation is bankrupt because World Cup costed them way more than they managed to get back. Also with Dupont/Ntamac most likely joinning back the squad only for next year competition, France is more in a situation where the creative pair has to adapts to system not build for their game style, than a team build around them... obviously that situation impacts greatly performance.

I think it's actually been the case for some time. I rewatched a few 2023 RWC games, including some of the French ones, and the Bokke-France quarter final. Before that quarter final, I thought the level of physicality and intensity that was thrown at the French was a bit, let's say....underwhelming. Namibia and Italy were pushovers and crumbled all over the place, and the All Blacks were trying running rugby more than anything, as is their wont. But the Bokke smashed them. And kept smashing them. And again, and again, and again. And by the end of the match, I could swear Jesse Kriel or Pieter-Steph Du Toit, who had played like 70 minutes up to that point, had more energy and aggressiveness than the French forwards who had come from the bench like 15 minutes before. I like to say that if you smash the French hard enough for long enough, they go away.

France should have been at least 20 points up at half time. Their lack of ability to score after camping in the Italian 22 for what seemed like the entire half was laughable. Forwards blindly hitting up around the ruck or getting in the way and causing bad passes catches so the ball never gets wide with pace or the ability to find the runner in space. Whoever their 10 is needs a louder voice or they need to put a guy in who's decision making is far cleverer and accepted

@oldiaulI never said they deserved the points, im criticising their lack of ability to turn possession and position into points. I thought that was pretty clear. 😂

Hosting a World Cup always forces French rugby to shelve its perpetual infighting and pull things together for the big event. Afterwards, dysfunction returns, the sense of common purpose evaporates and the team quickly slide. It's who they are: always have enormous potential, never consistent enough to realize it.

Yes Italy should have won... and yes Scotland should have won... I don't feel sorry for them, that's payback for the robbery by SA and NZ ref in the WC. Plus like half of the A team is missing, injured or fcked off playing 7's to feel good about himself (at least they won a tournament so there's that. it wasn't for noting at least, plus OG to come) We will decide when it's ok to feel sorry for Scotland and Italy and any other who feel robbed. In the mean time suck it up and walk it off

Italy were just level with 14 men France. France is currently trash at closing down opportunities, and finishing the game with 15 players. But France could have easily been 25-30 points ahead at the end of the first half, if not for dumb mistakes So, all cheers for the Italian squad but let's still be realistic : they are still quite far away
@frigobar0173

Not level, Italy should have won, the kick should have been retaken and the french try wasnt a try. So first half should have been just 3-3, not 10-3

Name on thing that France consistently dominated during that game, I dare you ! ^^" (except the ref's bias and the red cards) Lineouts ? Nothing to report, really. Rucks ? The French got hammered. Kicks ? They harldy kicked, and when they did it was poor and uninspired. Scrums ? Sure, they won one or two. And then they didn't....for all the power and the weight they had, they didn't get that many penalties from it...

@@mateiyu-4082 hammered ? The first half was fully dominated by France. If they were not so clumsy; it would have been 4 tries Second half slightly dominated by Italy, they played well

@@Laftors the video, the score and the fact that the one and only french try was a knock on shows you that France did not dominate the first half at all, they just exhausted themselves by attacking on and on and not accomplishing anything while getting hammered by the Italian defence.

Italy lost vs England and France due refreeying incompetence. When the refree was good they won, as they did vs Scotland today.

Pretty bad analysis. Yes, Italy did well and should have won ultimately. However, the story is that of French mistakes and inefficiency in the first half. Play that game 20 times and 19 of these France will be 30 points up by halftime. I am glad to see Italy do well, but your narrative is missing the point
