I have been watching your videos awhile now. You two are so cute together! I love the way you banter and your stories. I also have learned a ton about Shane's disability and it is really humbling, and makes for less judgement all around. Yes there is a thing when you are almost asleep and then swore you heard a noise that wasn't there and it startles you awake. It is called exploding head syndrome. I'm a huge vivid dreamer sometimes I don't know if it is real or a dream. They are a part if me but disturbing at the same time. You two are awesome! Keep doing what you do. ❤

(Exploding head syndrome) is when you’re drifting off to sleep and your brain suddenly produces a 100% imagined loud noise that will startle and wake you up. It’s normal and just a hiccup our brains do from time to time.

yes, this happened to me once. I fell asleep on the couch and woke up to a loud knock on the back door. Like jarred me awake and hopped off the couch fast. My heart was racing and i was terrified. There was no one at the back door…. It was so strange. Later found out it was exploding head syndrome. Happens when you’re exhausted or stressed. Most sounds are gunshots, knocks, footsteps and screams…

I have this! It took me 30 years to figure it out. I've had such horrible episodes, even had extreme anxiety attack because I could feel the explosion through my body. I was convinced there was an explosion outside my home

So weird. I too had a similar night. A bang noise woke me up. Initially I thought it was just a dream but when my dog got up and went downstairs and was pacing through the house, I realized it sounded loud and close. She came back upstairs and insisted I get up. At 1:30am this never happens. She is a cuddler and loves to sleep. She then wanted to go out and check outside. Neither one of us wound up back in bed. I don't know what we heard but it definitely sounded as if it it came from inside the house. Definitely spooked us.

Cats commonly unroll toilet tissue rolls into piles on the floor. They scratch at the roll as the tissue ribbons down in a paper fall. This event and the sounds would seem to indicate there is a cat in the house that you don't know about yet.

Both dreams are the same dream. Hell is the dorm room. My husband always says dreams are free entertainment. Your costumes are so cute! Here in LA there are raccoons and opossums that walk on roofs so get used to that. Possums and raccoons walk slower than cats. that's how you know.

The unrolling of the toilet paper had me shook!! This happened in my home twice in the last month, in my bathroom that no one else uses! I have 3 dogs but can’t imagine it was them! Both times it happened, it was almost the entire roll and it was in a perfect pile underneath the roll! It’s been driving me crazy trying to figure out how it happened, so to hear it happened to you too….😮!!! What could it be?!?!?!

Ever since we’ve started sleeping with separate blankets, I sleep so much better. I’m less aggravated now that my hubby doesn’t pull my blanket off me, and I also like a heavier blanket than he does. In many European countries, partners use separate blankets. Next will be separate mattresses, although these memory foam mattresses do make a huge difference already. Yeah, my Catholic upbringing made me have dreams like that all too often as a child. I’m much happier being an atheist. Scary dreams like that stopped almost right away 😁.

You said that there are a lot of kittens and cats in your neighborhood. Is it possible that one of them got in while the construction workers were there? Cats are notorious for messing with toilet paper and it's super fun to them to play with a roll on the holder and unroll the whole thing. If you heard scampering through the house and found the toilet paper unrolled, I'm guessing you've got a kitten or cat in the house that is likely feral so it won't easily be seen but it decided to have some fun with the toilet paper during the night. If you can, put a camera up and see what you can find during the night. I wouldn't be surprised if you have a little furbaby messing with ya! LOL. Boo! 👻😺

When i was 9 months pregnant my husband and i had moved for his job to a very rural town. My hubby went to work at 500a.m. . I stayed in bed, ten minutes later i heard him come back in, he must have forgotten his lunch again, i thought. Then I heard him quietly in our bedroom , I looked up and standing on the very end of my bed was a strange man. I started screaming my lungs off and the man ran off. I was never so frightened in my life . This was before cell phones and we just moved in. Our phone wasn't on yet and we had no nearby neighbors. And we had only one car. That evening when my husband returned home we purchased a gun. I learned then to never put myself in a vulnerable situation like that again.

My daughter and her husband just closed on their first home last week. They have been living with us, in our finished basement for the past few years, so they could save up the money for a down-payment and also their wedding. They were at their new house two nights and my daughter kept hearing what she thought were gunshots coming from the basement. This house is way out in the country, but in a small subdivision, and the house is only like 20 years old. So she thought they have ghosts in the basement. She bought holy water on Amazon, thinking it would scare away the ghosts. Her husband was telling me this last night as he's dying laughing. I have never heard any noises there that sounded like gunshots. It could have been someone hunting in a nearby corn field?

Yes, there is a specific sleep disorder that happens - you wake up thinking you just heard a loud bang. Believe it or not, it is called Exploding Head Syndrome. This happened to me several times during a certain period of my life but doesn't happen anymore.
