Sr.Natalia’s life profession

We were blessed to be at Mother Natalia’s final vowels/life profession yesterday. If you want to learn more about Sr.Natalia watch her video on ‪@PintsWithAquinas‬.
She was walked down the aisle by her spiritual father and her spiritual mother. Sister has not had her haircut since entering with Christ the bridegroom monastery, and this is the first time anyone including her parents has seen her hair! My nine-year-old daughter film this, so be patient with her moving, but I just had to share this beautiful moment with you guys.

I guess,that that conveys the fact that she herself is choosing to be a nun.In India,when you become a nun, the hair is cut. Pretty sure,it is the same everywhere else...That she brings back the scissors each time is an indication that it is her wish to become a nun.Not sure though

I think it means in a symbolic way that you really want this, this life, to be a Bride of a Christ. The Bishop in a symbolic way is making sure that she's committed and willing...at least that's what I think😅

So our catechism does not apply to Byzantine Catholicism? And Byzantine Catholicism is actually Greek Orthodoxy? I just read this online. Confused. But it's all good. I've learned so much from mother Natalia on Matt's channel. Her jargon sounded like RCC jargon I had no idea it could possibly be Orthodoxy. I guess I will organically learn more about the differences. No use stressing about it before bed time. 😅😅

Our Catechism Does Apply. It’s the Catholic Catechism. Check out Fr. Thomas Loya’s Light of the East Podcast👍 When people say that the Eastern Catholics’s have Orthodox theology, it just means that they have the Eastern approach towards it. Eastern Catholic’s are fully Catholic, they accept the Bishop of Rome as Pope, immaculate conception, purgatory (although they use different wordings), etc. Also check out Christ Our Pascha - Ukrainian Greek Catholic Catechism, it’s basically the Catholic Catechism we are familiar w/ but w/ Eastern Emphasis.

Byzantine Catholicism is Catholicism, not Orthodoxy. Our catechism still applies. The Eastern traditions are different as they follow the Greek patrimony, but it is just a different outward expression of the same beliefs. Latin and Greek: two lungs, 1 Church
