Back in the '90s we modified our RC10 buggies into oval track "stock cars"; flipping the battery pack, shifting the weight to turn left, modifying the suspension and drivetrain. We even had an oval track racing league. I still have my "Monte Carlo SS Aero Coupe" body shell. Now you just open the box and race. Still looks like fun. Wish RC racing was popular near me. I'd love to introduce my kids to it.

@@paulclancy2404 I agree with Paul. 1:1 drag racing/street racing is VERY popular and all you need is a smooth, flat piece of tarmac. This vehicle, while really cool, requires a properly groomed track for legitimate competition. Those are hard to come by. I live in the 4th largest city in the US and regular dirt tracks are few and far between.

Going in a straight line over and over is boring, and driving times are in the seconds. Circle track is fun, you race with other people, drive times are in the minutes. For me, $ for $ circle track is a better investment than Drag. There is more dirt in the world than cement, it's not that difficult to make an oval to race on.

I machined 4mm off the front spindle shoulder on my DR10 and then 4mm off the spindle shaft to allow the front tires to mount inward 4mm which keeps the tires from rubbing the body and causing unwanted drag and paint loss on the front fenders. Looks like this will work on the SR 10 too. Team Associated should offer 2mm offset spindles to correct this common fault.

In the Midwest we don’t have many tracks so most of us are just bashers!
@AMain_Hobbies3 жыл бұрын
It just depends on the type of racing. In most cases, a slower car will achieve faster lap times for the average driver, because there are fewer mistakes, slider outs, hitting stuff, etc. It's usually more important to drive clean lines with no crashes than to have a car that goes fast, but not always. -Brett

@@kenmastersmaster comparing technology from the 90's is completely disingenuous. Was that not considered fast back then? Further, can you run at 21 mph? I know I cannot, so that car is moving at least 2x as fast as I can move with my own locomotion. Look at the super cars from that era, virtually all with only a couple exceptions perhaps would be considered slow by todays standards.
@sinkWad3 жыл бұрын
@@kenmastersmaster 1/10 of 200 is 20. This is a 1/10 scale car. So that is 100% to scale including its speed. Which WOULD make it fast based on the logic you just represented. The perception of speed is relative, I know this is a new concept for you so I'll explain. Relative means each person will view it in their own way. You being smooth brained and face rolling across your keyboard b/c you think 21 mph is "slow" where myself, looking at basic human locomotion see it as two times faster (roughly) than the average human can move.
