ಮಾಲಕಂಸ ರಾಗ ಭೀಮಸೇನ ಜೋಶಿ ಅವರನ್ನ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಯಾರ ಹಾಡಿದರೂ ಮನಸ್ಸು ತೃಪ್ತಿ ಆಗತಿದ್ದಿಲ್ಲ ಇವತ್ತು ತಾವು ಹಾಡಿದ ಮಾಲಕಂಸ ರಾಗ ಕೇಳಿದೆ My God ನಿಮಗೆ ಆ ರಾಗದ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಕಂಟ್ರೋಲ ಇದೆ Hatsoff ತಮ್ಮ ಗಾಯನ ಮಂತ್ರ ಮುಗ್ಧ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ನನ್ನ ಅಕ್ಕನ ಮಗನಿಗೆ ಇವತ್ತು ಧನ್ಯವಾದ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ. ಜಯತೀರ್ಥ ಅವರೇ ತಮಗೆ ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಸದಾ ಕರುಣಿಸಲಿ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುವೆ.

For all the people wondering why the Tanpura is tuned to Shuddh Nishaad. That is a custom/tradition practiced by Pt. Bhimsen Joshi(who probably got the idea from Ustad Amir Khan). He used to tune the Tanpuras to Shuddh Nishaad even if the raaga he was singing didn't have Nishaad.

I'm not sure if it was started by Pt Bhimsen ji. I've heard Ustad Amir Khan sing malkauns that way as well.

I was surprised to hear that in Kirana Gharana it is a common practice to tune to Nishad irrespective of the Raaga. You can notice this if you listen to Pt. Bhimsen Joshi's recordings as well.

I do not know classical music - but I can tell one thing for sure. Jayateerthi voice is sweeter than Bhimsen Joshi and is soft & romantic. Bhimsenji has DHABHANG Voice - loud and high ups & downs. May be difficult to sing like him with such high pitch. But, for me, that is also music & this is also music and both are wonderful. Compare DILIP KUMAR & AMITABH BACCHAN. Both are no1 hero's, but no comparison between them.

Ye kirana gharana ki kaafi famous bandish hai... Aur taal ati vilambit jhoomra ke saath pehli amir khan sahab ne nahi balki kirana gharana ke bhagwan Ustad Wahid Khan Sahab ne vilampat kiya.. Amir Khan Sahab ko ye idea bahut pasand aaya isliye unhone bhi apnaya ise...

Isko kirana gharana ke mahaan Ustad Niaz Ahmed Khan Sahab ne , Mere Guruji Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan Sahab ne bhi jhoomra Taal me gaaya hai.. Jhoomra taal kirana ka priy taal hai..
