D. Edward Firman Clayton Ceylonese rugby dates back to the 1890's when English and Scottish tea planters played the game. Before air travel became common, the ships taking all black and wallaby teams to Briton and South Africa used to stop in Colombo and play games against teams comprised of English, Scots and Irish expatiates ( aka Criminal imperialist ) . Rugby is the biggest spectator spot in Sri Lanka's biggest cities - Colombo and Kandy ( history of over 5000 years ) The mythical All Black " invincible's" of 1912 ( ? ) played several matches in Colombo against local team that still exist ( CH&FC, CR&FC ) Sinhalese are more aggressive than Indians or Burmese the other two countries that the criminal British East India company looted for over 300 years.
