welcome to Sri Lanka. Real Buddhism is protected in Sri Lankan "Aranya Senasana" . Worshiping to Bhodhi and stupa is only a small part of Buddhism. You can't find real happiness only doing worships. Buddha said, you don't need to run around the world or universe to find the real happiness . Its in your mind. Happiness mean opposite of "sadness" . If you can stop the sadness you become happy. Sadness is the result of birth. If you can stop birth , then you don't have to suffer and sad. To stop the birth find out what is the meaning of 'THANHA'

Anuradhapuram was ruled by Tamil King Ellalan. There was a lord Siva temple 🛕 it was disroyed by Portuguese. after independence, singhalese built buddah viharai. There are several architectural landmarks still related to King Ravanan. All around these areas. those heritages belong to hindusiam-saivam and Tamil from historically since Ravanan era.. The guide guy is telling her LORD SIVA AND UMADAVY carving statu ISSURU MUNIYA COUPLE what an insulting Lord buddah even tolerates this explanation because who was Hindu, human and monk singhala people practice buddisham that was given to as a gift. I am not sure why they still keep those status there. they aren't really sure what they are practicing or may afraid to disroyed completely . Zero respect , he will do anything for money

Well done on Visiting Anuradhapura. I was in Kandy a few days ago. Now I am back in Australia, where I live. I really wanted to go Anuradhapura, didn’t have enough time for that. I am glad I have visited here before though. Also Ruwanweli Maha Seya is considered the most important location for another reason. Besides containing the most amount of relics of Gautama Samma Sam Buddha in any location. It’s also the location where 4 Supreme Buddhas have visited, from this current BhardaKalpa. Including our current Gautama Samma SamBuddha whom also visited this location. ‘According to the legends the site itself had been graced by four Supreme Buddhas; Kakusanda, Konagama and Kassapa in earlier times and further by Gauthama Buddha during his third visit to Sri Lanka.’ 🙏🙏🙏 In this way this location is really important for a Pious Buddhist 🙏

Monks can use yellow-dark brown clothes. It shows the color of tree leaves as they getting dry. Some leaves are yellow. Some are brown. So it is advised to wear those colors. Your guide was wrong in that case.

In Anuradapura period (3Century BC-11Century AD) there were two main Buddhist scolars.1.Theravadins(Who follow Theravada Buddhism),2.Mahayanins(Who follwe Mahayana Budhism). Mahaviharaya (which include sacred bo tree,Ruwanwaliseya stupa and their buildings ) Buddhist monastery followed Theravada Buddhism.Abayagiriya monastery (Abayagiriya Stupa , Jethawanaya Stupa and their buildings) followed Mahayana Budhism. Eventually vanished in the county in the 12 century AD. Nowadays Theravada Buddhism exists.
