We faced the same issue with Qantas (Sydney to Auckland). We were in the last row, and only vege meals were left. We refused!! Honestly, it was our third flight of the day, so we had had enough of Airline food. So it's not just a Sri Lankan issue.

We tried SL airlines in April from Sydney to Colombo for the first time and that was the best airline experience we ever had. Service was excellent and the availability of food options and the taste of them were great. Specially mention the yummy desserts. Same with the return flight as well. Not sure if it depends on the route. But the overall experience was excellent!

😢😢😢Sri Lankan Airlines is not superior to Air Lanka (former airline). Airport is the worst and the slowest (inefficiency at its peak). ❤❤However, the Sri Lankan airline crew, including the captains and maintenance team, are the best, and I believe they fly planes in a safer manner than other airlines.
