To change ride modes while riding you have to let off the throttle. It’s something to due with the ride by wire system
@Ichibuns
@Ichibuns 3 жыл бұрын
It changes the throttle mapping. In a car it's usually not a big deal. In a torquey sport bike with gobs of horsepower like this one, cruising in rain mode and switching to sport mode is the difference between maintaining speed and popping a wheelie. That would make even the most seasoned riders butt pucker lol

@Srkcycles, you're not wrong. I love my 2019 bobber, and after 2 years of owning it, I am still in love with the bike and happy I chose this manufacture and model. However, from the beginning, I was never pleased with the car-dealership like attitude. Even the small things like an owner's manual that took me 4 months to finally receive. Did I mention that they sent me the manual in French only? lol I had to go into the Indian dealership several times for certain things and each time I dreaded it! I'm glad I was more concerned about the bike and not their attitudes! ohh, keep up the good work bro, love your videos!

Odbyt Konia i don‘t know where you have seen something that would provoke your comment, but ok? I just mean it‘s not a game changer to build a good modern sport bike, any european or japanese brand has been doing that for decades, indian is just the only american company doing it. Essentially i just wanted to comment on how funny it is to say „they changed the game“ at an american company just because they actually built a good and modern sportbike 😄

He's right, this SHOULD be Indian's best selling motorcycle except that people who want to buy American motorcycles want to buy cruisers. And people who don't care if a bike has an American logo on it know they can get a bike with more power that doesn't cook your legs every time you stop at a light for less money.

@@darrengriffith9680 There is no way I would call mine awful. It stalls every now and then during warm up and once rolling while still cold it is laggy and unresponsive but it gets up to temp fast [79-80c] . Once up to temp it hammers. Other than that it surges a bit on part throttle while going down hill kind of coasting but hardly worse than anything else I have owned. It is in getting serviced today including checking for updates so it will be interesting to see what it come back like
@darrengriffith9680
@darrengriffith9680 4 жыл бұрын
Jeff Green I mean I think you can agree for an expensive bike that’s not acceptable though. Stalling, jittery throttle, hesitation. I have a zx10 and the fueling is perfect, as well as a Buell lightning that’s nearly 20 years old and have owned many other bikes with zero issues. My wife has a royal enfield himilayan and it stalls when cold on occasion but otherwise is fine and it’s a super cheap bike. In fact I haven’t had a bike that’s acted like this since a 1992 suzuki bandit that’s carbureted. I love the bike but these issues are unacceptable. Indian promised they would fix it in preproduction models and it would be fine after the bike is released. It’s still not.

Cloakedsphere I just bought my S for $13K out the door with $750 in Roland Sands parts on it. There are deals to be had if you want a 2019 FTR. I saw a few non S models selling for less than $9k while looking for my bike granted I think one was a “demo” bike.

Cloakedsphere I just got a pretty good deal on a 2019 s race replica. The screen is worth it over the stock instruments in my opinion. The stock instrumentation is straight from a scout and has just a digital read out for the tach.

Sean that seems like a brilliant bike and well done Indian. I’ve loved Indians since the early 70’s. I even tried to buy a 1934 Chief and side car from my boss when I was doing my apprenticeship. He wasn’t interested in selling it as he was happy with it leaning against a tree out in the weather. Even though I was sad to see Victory fold, I was happy to see that Polaris build Indians to the same quality. Now getting to your giveaway comp that you mentioned. Living in Australia, it doesn’t matter if I was able to do as you ask I wouldn’t be in contention because of the cost to ship it to Australia. Anyway thanks for the great video from Down Under.

Sorry Sean. You're wrong about the HD XR1200. I own one and it is virtually a completely different machine than the 1200 Sportster of the same era. It has basically a Buell engine that makes considerably more HP and torque with oil cooled heads, hotter cams, down draft fuel injection and freer flowing exhaust. About the only things that are the same as the regular 1200 is the gearbox, bars, belt drive and headlight. It's also a great bike overall. And by the way I love this Indian.

The Inidan FTR-1200 is very stable and a bit heavy @ 500 # The FZ-07 is very squirrely over 90 mph with stock forks I drastically improved the handling on my FZ-07 with an Ohlin Cartridge kit. I have a 2008 Buell Ulyesses @ 103 HP and 500# is very similar handling to the Indian but a bit more sluggish on acceleration .. The Biggest difference with the Buell is that I paid a lot less and it same with side cases and a top case..
