Its a horrible first bike for a newbie. Low speed maneuvers are a pain if you dont know what you’re doing, aggressive riding style can cause wrist pain and death wobbles if you dont know how to properly ride, high rpm power band takes a lot of mental power and focus to stay into which you dont want especially if youre still consciously thinking about your cornering lines, braking, shifting, and counter steering already. But if you want something that you can actually learn on and have more fun in a safer way then 300-500 twins really is the way to go.
@Thegreenamg Жыл бұрын
@@triyo1089 Its not a horrible beginners bike it depends who starts on it and how mature you are. I started on a R6 when i was 21 as my first biking with only have ridden sports quads before hand. I took it slow tried to master all the slow maneuvers before going past 9k rpm. i promised to myself that i wouldnt go past it in the first month no matter how good i got a slow maneuvers. And thats what i did. I graduatelly build from there. Been riding for 2.5 years now never had any accidents, tank slappers or dropped it and Still have a R6 just a newer one, i am fairly tall so i dont have to lean on my wrists . I had a 2006 and now a 2013 R6, I live between 8000-14000 RPM’s in the Rocky Mountain canyons (and at with the factor of higher elevation where you lose HP with decreased oxygen as you go up) and I love it every time. It turns into a whole different machine when it runs like that for a few hours, opposed to relatively constant speeds and RPM’s on the highway, even gets better gas mileage when you ride it hard like that! The guy who taught me how to ride raced for Suzuki for 15 years, and after riding many other bikes/brands the only other bike I’d consider for what I like to do is the GSX-R 750. In my opinion, it’s the only other bike that compares (without going to a 1000+ CC machine and giving up ability to flip through corners as effortlessly as a kid on a BMX bike. The unique powerband of the R6 will never get old. It's like the ultimate VTEC. To be honest for me there's more than enough power on the lower end to just commute. It could be a bit more useful on hill starts but honestly it has more than enough power. Now on to the powerband. When I first started pulling hard after breaking it in I would pull up to 12k RPM and thought wow this is insane. Once I started hitting 13-14kRPM that's when I instantly knew what everybody meant. It really does feel like turbo lag. The amount of power that the bike unleashes at those RPMs is just insane. It feels like you have a rocket propelling you and you're entering warp speed. There's just nothing like it in the 600 class I feel like.

I agree that it's not a good first bike though. I don't think I would've made it home with the R6 had I not had experience on the SV. It was certainly a different ball game but the basics and even some of the finer details of riding I learned from the SV helped so much with riding the R6. Then the stacks shorten when you're at height rpm cuz it needs more air volume so the shorter the stack the more air volume is accessible, it doesn't need the added height cuz the velocity increases with rpm... Yamaha has their demo truck at a local dealer over the weekend. To be honest, after about 5 minutes on the r3 and r6, my right wrist was screaming. I fell in love with the mt09. Probably my next bike

when riding a sport bike you clench your legs and hold yourself up that way. Floating your hands over the controls... dont blame the bike for your lack of experience ;)

Neil Williams not blaming the bike, just saying that the riding position of the r6 wasn’t as comfortable to me as the mt09

Lol I watched this video when I thought I wanted a R6. After watching a bunch of R6 videos, I quickly realized that I didn’t want a R6. The bike I wanted was the one that I got. A ZX6R. Much more “streetable”, much cheaper, and much more low key. No one owns 636’s. I go on group rides and everyone is rocking GSXR’s and R6. Makes me feel a bit more unique. Granted a Gixxer or R6 would smoke my ZX6R flat out, but I don’t care because I don’t ride like that. My bikes makes great sounds, spits out flames, and I think is the best Loki g out of all the 600’s (2014 ZX6R with the white and black livery).

I have the 2008. It's amazing. Bottom end gutless. Top end is nuts. Great brakes. Handles nice. Very stable at high speed. Sometimes people say you got a headlight out, lol. Also if your under 5'10 then it's hard to touch the ground. I'm 5'11 and it's only just okay for me. If your over 90kg get a bike with more torque. Don't buy if your a learner. Get an r3 first. 9/10 bike. Doesn't have any tcs rider modes etc. If it had more torque under 10K it would be a 10/10. Oh yeah no gear indicator and no fuel gauge is so annoying. It does have an empty warning light though
@ibj35 жыл бұрын
For me this bike got everything i need. It drives better at the high rpm's but that's just what this bike is for i also drove the R1 but i liked the smaller R6 more i don't have to go fast to enjoy the bike so the R6 is a winner.

If you want a more steetable bike with low end torque then you dont want a supersport at all!! You get more low end with 1000cc superbikes but thats not a smart decision if you just want low end. Get a 650 thats made for more low and mid range.. plus the 650s are typically more comfortable

My bike starts just like boom 💥 as soon as you press the ignition button, zip zip boom. Runs very well !! Best to let your bike run for a Minuit or two before you pull off.... myn tends to be a bit cloggy if I pull straight away after not riding for a good amount of time. Speed doesn’t really excite me, I like to ride slow and mellow... as long as you can get the speed limits.. your good to go 👍🏼 My yamaha: Only done 4.9k, Digital speedometer, ABS, gold DID chain, new tyres, newly and fully serviced, full Remus exaughst system although it could do you a new pipe since it’s a bit rust and old... upside down gold forks... Runs and sounds good 😌👌🏼

As cool a dude as you are I don't think I'd want to buy a bike from you considering you don't seem to warm them up before driving off on them as evidenced by the fast idle on that R6 sticking at 2k RPM before coming down when it's getting closer to operating temperature.
