I've ridden Victory, a very nice bike that created a niche for itself by being unpretentious. I've ridden an Indian, which seemed to be a renamed Victory trying to be something it wasn't. STILL.... Both were nice bikes and if it suits you, awesome! Go get one and ride it! I think most of the criticism of Harley-Davidson has nothing to do with the motorcycles themselves. The beef is either with the buying demographic and their attitude toward "infidels", or with the dealers and their greediness at the bargaining table. I ride a Road King, but I try to avoid stereotypes. I ride in full protective riding gear with a full face helmet. I ride with all kinds of other folks and their chosen brands because not everyone in my riding organization buys Harley. I really liked Victory's modern take on cruiser design. If ever I was going to own a cruiser, Victory had my interest. I was just never in the market for one when they were being made and when I finally got in the market for a new bike, they were no longer available. What a shame. I can understand why Polaris started producing Indian motorcycles and can understand why they didn't want to support two competing brands. John Garrison - That is a stupid reason, i still find parts for my 1948 Indian Chief. I still find parts for my 2003 Indian Chief, Victory is a far superior bike to H-D and you will still find parts in 20+ years. I own 8 bikes right now and not a single 1 if a H-D. Harley is crap compared to Indian, Victory and Yamaha which is why H-D sales keep dropping year after year after year. I very recently almost bought a 2016 H-D SGS, i decided i wanted a touring bike and i looked at the Indian Chieftain, H-D SGS and because i didn't like how forward the controls are on the Chieftain and was leaning towards the SGS. I was telling a friend and he said before you pull the pin and get the 2016 H-D SG, he said has a friend selling a 2016 Victory magnum i should check out, i am familiar with the Victory branch because i have a 2007 Victory Jackpot. He called up his buddy and we drove down to see the Magnum, it was mint and gorgeous, lots of upgrades including full stage 1 pipes and air intake along with an ECU tuner. I took it out for a ride and OMG, feels, handles and looks better than the SGS,. I fell in love with the 2016 magnum that has only 4000 miles on it and still under warranty until 08/2019. When I contacted Polaris online before, they said Victory didn't sell a whole lot. I was arguing with them because of their lack of passion for their product in my area of Victory dealers. When the dealers act like it kills them if you walk into their store to look around, that is a bad way to push your product. Victory motorcycles are sweet! Just needed more passion in their product in my opinion.
@johnanderson97356 жыл бұрын
@@68weebee I agree on the lack of passion, Victory's are nice bikes. If I had enough cash, and my wife would approve, I would have one my favorites from each line of bikes (two is the limit right now, I was talking about #3 and I got 'No you don't need three!' my daughter chimed in as well LOL).

I disagree, I liked the Victory similar to the one in this vid but after riding it and riding the Harley Street glide, I was greatly disappointed in the Victory, the Harley was much smoother and more maneauverable. But to each his own.

Dude. I almost bought the 2012 in 2015. I loved the ride and feel but the biggest difference to me was the value. My harley was a few thousand more but the cross country had zero real chrome. All plastic covers. I watched your unedited 2nd half. Don't pay $300 to map a bike. You can get a new tuner for that.
@KawaRider885 жыл бұрын
Victory and Indians are built for bigger riders. If your 6 foot or taller you would be much more comfortable on these bikes. Finding parts is getting expensive and hard to find. But these Victories are a deal if your looking for a big bike with lower cost. Harley’s are nice but they are built for smaller people. Don’t believe me, just look at the floor boards.

I have a friend that has a victory and it seems like he is always making excuses why it's "just as cool as a harley", almost like insecure about it...strange. P.S I like those gloves but i would never buy them, that zipper flapping around my paint is not going to happen
@Colt-tf6xf5 жыл бұрын
Back in the old days, you could buy a Jeep or you could buy a Scout(International), and everywhere you went, you would be defending your decision "They're just as good as a Jeep." Well, they really weren't , and their pickups really sucked too, and they don't make either one now, but you can build a Jeep out of a catalogue, same as a Harley.
@gur2624 жыл бұрын
Eh. Harley is so much of a cult brand not so unlikely that one would feel insecure perhaps. Unless you d buy not a cruiser but a monster like a Yamaha mt 01which, combining a big v2 with a sporty chassis is like what Harley never tried and buell just kinda did but with issues.

I could never stand harley fanboys/purists...esp when they try and argue that their bikes dont leak or their part are outsorced to asian countries for manufacturing victory won me over years ago when I saw how they build/run their engines and create more stable power , output and performance/maintenance reliability.
