I think that Kajita-san is onto something with the comedian thing. The three of them (Nakamura, Sugita, Shimono) seem like the biggest dorks in the best way. 😂
@human_collector06 жыл бұрын
I love the Sugita-Shimono-Nakamura combi. All of them are my favourite and have great kazoku chemistry. I apologize Nakamura-san I will try to add -san from now on. But it's true that, it's because of who you are as a person that you get called without a -san. (Never thought he had this sensitive side).

I love japanese and their unique way of name calling. Using only surname or first name, adding honorifics, and using nicknames really makes a difference in how one view someone else and such. It's so complicated but interesting at the same time. It kind of makes their name really special depending on how or who calls them. Thank you for subbing this video! Now I learn even more about this name-calling stuff!

I remember a time in Tokyo Encounter that Nakamura told Yuuki Aoi "What am I? Your friend?". It's in jest of course.... I think. Edit: I found the part. It's in Episode 15 of the first season of Tokyo Encounter. About halfway into the show, while they were talking about Mario Party.

In BuluRaji, Sugita is shown to dislike nicknames for himself. They initially tried to call him Tomo-kun from episode 2 onwards, but it never stuck because he would give them (Imai and Kondou) the cold shoulder. Discussed later in BuluRaji D episode 5, where the girls (Sugita was absent that episode) discussed about giving them a different nickname, they ended up with "Guy". But they were afraid he wouldn't like it either. Of course, it didn't stuck. And that's the guy who gave them the nicknames Imajin and Kondom since episode 1.

Thank you!! :D Yeah I love Nakamura because he voiced Hashimoto in Hibike :) Then I found out he also voiced Karamatsu and I was hooked!
@OPFan146 жыл бұрын
OMG, yes!!!! I have always considered Yuichi one of my absolute favorites in all of voice acting. From Tomoya Okazaki, to Hashimoto as you mentioned, to Houtarou Oreki to even N from Pocket Monsters...he somehow manages to be in every other anime I watch, its just amazing how well his voice suits the anime protagonist. My favorite is definitely Oreki for how well he pulls off the detached but caring MC, but Karamatsu I loved how he was pretty much second banana to Takahiro Sakurai's character. Hearing Takahiro in Eupho as Noboru just reminded me of how awesome his voice is. Hearing anything from Cloud Strife is more than enough to remind me! Another one of my absolute favorites. Yeah seriously, I always wanted to comment reply to you to tell you how I appreciate your love of Eupho and the effort in your covers, but admittedly I was always sorta nervous. ;)
@takinoborudesu6 жыл бұрын
OMG thank you! you're so kind :) I just cover eupho songs on piano to relieve stress but i'm so happy you like them!! :) Also the more you learn about Nakamura the more lovable he seems. Like his soft spot for cats, and his tsundere personality, and his compulsive need to click pens... The man is an absolute marshmallow!
@OPFan146 жыл бұрын
滝昇taki-noboru Hey, its my pleasure! If I see or listen to something I enjoyed, I always like to let the other know. Its the little things, ya know? But yeah, it is great you have such a creative and expansive outlet such as music! It along with Eupho being my second favorite honestly been making me reconsider coming back to practicing either guitar or piano again. Oh, those kinda discoveries, hehe. I can certainly relate...that first Shoujo Ai cd featuring both Mamiko Noto and Ayako Kawasumi (star voice of the great music anime Nodame Cantabile) was certainly a big surprise, haha. Combined with the medium of visual novels as a whole, and I certainly have my own hands full with great voices :) Oh man, yes Yuichi is quite a cool guy from what I have seen of him! For someone his age, he is definitely just a very easygoing guy. Just like his best friend Tomokazu Sugita, who is hysterical :). If you haven't seen it yet, you should definitely watch their show, Tokyo Encounter where they basically LP games with the guest here and there. Its hillarious stuff! Ah, seiyuus are the G, aren't they? Once I become fluent in Japanese one day, I look forward to listening all those radio shows. But for now, I am happy to have stuff like the subreddit for Seiyuus. And if youre wondering, my absolute favorite Seiyuu are Minako Kotobuki (Asuka Tanaka....my favorite from that show), Hikaru Midorikawa (Marth), Haruka Tomatsu (Haru), Houko Kuwashima (Tomoyo) and Kouichi Yamadera (Sukeroku).

Nakamura & Sugita has nicknames in seiyuu industry!! it's YOUKYAN & SUGITAN! how can not they know that????
@bccchn3 жыл бұрын
Hahaha, Nakamura-san knows us so well. I am as guilty of this as he says. T___T I also call Suzumura-san as Suzu, because it's cute. We used to call Sakurai and Suzumura just Saku-Suzu combi, haha. Over the years, Sakurai has developed into more of older man image, which is why he's most likely referred to with -san. As for Nakamura, Sugita, and Shimono, yeah, those three have a more casual aura about them, it's like a bro-aura where it feels natural to use yobisute. The ones who I use -kun are the male seiyuu with a younger image, and I can't seem to stop calling Kaji-kun even though he got married and should be an adult, lol. As for Okamoto, I call him Shikorin, lol, which is probably the most offensive nickname of all of them. OnoD, HiroC, and Mamo-chan are all established nicknames, so those are a given.

It's because most people feel like they're emotionally closer to Sugita Tomokazu and Nakamura Yuuichi than the others. Like they're friends. So casual speech seems natural. The vibes that these two give is that of a friend you'd hang out with.

This is very surreal to listen to (read) when you aren't from japan. It feels really weird since there is nothing like honorifics in any of the three languages I speak. I guess there is formal / informal speak but it is never as serious as honorifics seems to be for japanese people. Of course I respect it, it just seems weird when you're from another country haha

I tend to call a seiyuu whatever I've heard them called most often. So I'll say 'Kaji-kun' but I'll also say 'Shimono-san'. And 'Kaito-kun' but 'Ayu'. Maybe I've just heard Sugita-san and Nakamura-san talked about without honorifics too often. It also doesn't come naturally to me since I'm not Japanese. But I do try to remember when talking about people online.

As an Asian, I totally understand the feeling. It's not like rage inducing thing to do, like if they did it you'll have the right to punch them in the face, but more like "ah, this bltch" kind of feeling. I was kind of delinquent back in the day and I never used honorifics towards my teachers except the ones that truly respect. Even my buddies that is definitely tougher than me said "Use 'sensei' punk" (not really the exact word for honorifics in my language but it's pretty dang on point) or something along the lines. Those few teachers that I respect though, if someone calling them without "sensei" I'll hit them without a second thought.

I think the cuter/hoter and younger a male seiyuu, the more likely they will be called with honorifics. The older and uglier and funnier you are, the more likely you will be called without it.
