I bought the same gun mostly to have a loaner gun for friends (that I didn't want them to scratch up my good guns). I found the length of pull too short as well (guessing it's 13.5 inches). I called Winchester customer support and they sent me 2 spacers, each 1/4 inch long, free of charge. So, this made the gun perfect for me and I used it as my primary shot gun for dove hunting last year. This gun will shuck shells on it's own with no help from the shooter (just keep your hand off of the forend). Kind of neat. Great channel.

Hey mate, I think it's what you meant but the fiber optic doesn't exactly charge up, it gathers a large amount of light through the sides and focuses it onto the end, providing a very bright aimpoint for the conditions. Enjoying your content, I like the variety and it's nice to hear from our original overlords instead of 99.9% of firearms channels being American (not that there's anything wrong with being American, just nice to have a different perspective).

The little i've heard offhand about the Turk Winchesters have never been that great, and the cheap Winchester shotguns in general. I inherited a Winchester 1897 from one grandfather and a Winchester 1200 from another, and I'll take the over century old hammer gun over the cheapo newer one any day. Winchester has had its issues over a long time with its name being placed on cheaper stuff, good to hear you've had a positive experience. I'll have to say, though, Invector chokes and all, after getting a BPS 10 I think if I get another pump some day I think I'll go with another Browning, all things considered. But, its always tough to turn down a well priced one instead, and the R870 and Mossberg 500 have never done me wrong either....

Come hunt the Ocean and you will find that even a gun like this really needs a good cleaning from time to time I take mine apart here after the season and clean every small part of it, I even pull the trigger assembly apart in order to clean it, sand and salt will kill any gun. A smaller clean is still required after each hunt. On the cartridge issue I have found that it is somewhat sensitive to rust on the cartridge but if you want to ensure good workings with high brass shot just put a little oil on them before use, (also protects them from rust but that is not an issue on land)
@srspower7 жыл бұрын
That's the one advantage of this gun, it is very easy to take apart and there really isn't much to it. Very simple design.
@ljp2007 жыл бұрын
The trigger assembly is a lot more complex than the rest of the gun but if you never get into salt water there is literally no reason to ever clean that part of the gun.

Great video. You mentioned that the shotgun is finicky on type of shells, high brass. How well does this shotgun do with buckshot or slugs? Was the challenge just with yours or have you heard the same from anyone else?

I have the same gun and the only cartridges mine has had trouble cycling is the cheap ones I got from a clay shooting place. I’ve never used slugs or buckshot so I can’t comment. But I’ve ran 3” magnums high brass through mine without any issues ever. Hope that helps a little. 👍🏻

I'm thinking of buying one for Practical Shotgun, kitting out with better sights and mag extension. Partly because I saw your vid shooting PSG with it, partly because it has a very good price (479€ here in Italy against 900€ for a Benelli Nova) and partly because it has very good looks. How difficult is it to get a mag extension in? Is it tough enough to withstand PSG?
@srspower7 жыл бұрын
A mag extension is very easy to fit and will work pretty well provided you make sure to put a clamp on it and use a low resistance follower with a new spring. I must say though I would go for the supernova if I were to do it all again. Keep an eye out on whats available second hand because a broken in super nova is a fantastically well built piece of kit.
@NickBurman7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. You don't have an idea how difficult it is to get a suitable gun for PSG 2nd hand here...lots of used shotguns for sale, 99.9% O/U or side-by-sides, Italians being great hunters and top-of-the-pile clay shooters. It is very hard to find a used semi-auto or pump which could be used for PSG...the few I have found in used gun sites (including some new ones at hefty discount prices) I saved the links and I'm crossing my fingers that they don't get sold before my ticket finally (and IF) gets issued! Most pump shotguns here are of the defense kind, with no chokes. The SXP is one of the few which has... My choices so far are the Remington 870 (I have found a second-hand one with interchangeable chokes), the SXP and the Nova for pumps, and the Beretta 1301 for semi-auto.
