We focus so much on SRV’s leads and licks we forget how INSANE of an overall guitar player he is especially playing rhythm parts like this. I remember the first time I heard look at little sister live ages ago I was more interested in learning the rhythm parts rather than the leads. Awesome lesson thank you!

He really was a great rhythm player and you can see this whenever he played with other players. I think being in bands without a lot of extra instruments really helped him think of ways to fill that space and make the band sound bigger than it really was.

Sounds a little like he might have been trying to imply two parts. Like traditional shuffle rhythm and a horn stab. Whatever the case, there’s always more to learn from Stevie Ray!

Learning steady quarter note bass with thumb and playing a variety of shuffle and triplet rhythms has been HIGHLEY beneficial to my overall blues playing and sense of rhythm couldn’t recommend more, one note anthony is even though it’s implied I would recommend verbally talking out all these rhythms for example all of these are 1 & 2 & 3 - (accented parts that vary) & 4 & ah 1 - then returns to shuffle on and of 1. You know you really got it down if you verbally speak rhythm simultaneously to playing. Actually speaking rhythms and singing parts is the #1 game changing to my improvement besides TX blues alley. You don’t need to be a singer but verbalizing parts is a must!! I think it needs to be recommended more and more widget placed on it. Just some food for thought

Anthony, I left you a message, can I get your albert king lesson still. I'm a little older then probably most of your watcher's and not computer savvy, so maybe you replied and I didn't see it, anyway, I would love to get my hands on that. Thank you

Hi James, I discontinued the sale of individual courses back in Jan. 2020. At that time, our Locals membership was already making up 90% of my revenue, and I made the decision to switch 100% to memberships. There are still people who have to buy individual courses (for various technical reasons) so I make courses available to purchase several times per year for those people. If you want to be notified of when courses are available to purchase (usually after a new course comes out), get your name on this email list: texasbluesalley.com/buy-courses

This was probably influenced by his brother Jimmy, who would've likely taken it from Eddie Taylor.
