I love solo science shifts, no annoying RD taking over all your projects on a whim, no research assistants critting anoms. I either get gibbed in a sudden artifact explosion or I become the station's science wizard with all the cool tech

I just played one of my first actual SS14 games as an assistant researcher. I have: - Accidentally tele'd our banana artifact - Got mercury poisoning for beating another artifact. - Got a very big pineapple as a gift, and soon after, I gave it to a rat man to appease him. - Got instantly killed by a shadow-portal thing that spawned in our banana room and decided to explode. - Ultimately died to a slime Very fun game, 10/10 Edit: Oh, and my first ever game, I joined late and arrivals are spaced

A few hours ago i had an atmos shift where we we're only the CE and me. I set distro and waste and when i checked, CE was mounting a internal Tesla build, the emitters we're like next to the tesla but somehow he got it right. I spend most of the shift waiting for the tesla to break. When suddenly on the radio "SINGULOOSE" I was like, what? But then they told it wasnt enginnering. It was science who let an anom go crit. It ate all of the Center of the station. It then ate evac and part of the escape shuttle

I witnessed and kinda contributing to a rage cage and someone slipped on to an electric fence as it was constructed stuck between that and a electric grill and got 8000 electric damage within a few seconds shocked like 800 times . But their body still in tact lol I showed medical and capt of my shift and they're both honestly impressed

Pro Tip, Get a rad or fire suit when working with any sci stuff..... i learn this the hard way and has saved me then my teammembers who stand next to things that can kill them.

Died to overheat? No shame in that I've done that few times. The watchers now cook you instead of burn ya, means you gotta take your space suit off before ya cook, or take lepo. It does give you an honest reason to take off your space suit in outer space.

I hate how this feels like a parallel universe of my time as a solo Sci on 'Mander. That led me to unlock Research Director for myself. Artifact was also one that caused a banana and potassium flood. Anoms when I wanted to do something else. Forgetting to bother capt for gold early in. Oh and needing medical because of an anomoly. (I got 2 flesh anom spawns. Horrid luck.) Too much to do, only one person to do it.

How does one get whitelisted? Would like to play on a more roleplay-centric server since wizard's den often has a lot of tomfoolery and can make it difficult to learn more intensive roles while i don't mind a little chaos (its partly why i was drawn to the game) sometimes i'd like for things to be a little more low-key so i have the space to learn since im kinda slow. Only started playing a couple days ago and its been a blast but i'm only gonna learn so much from guides and watching others >< I tried doing the medical intern role after reading a little and mostly got ignored by others while asking questions and asking for small tasks
