i would watch and/or create a movie where that's the main character who goes on a quest as the wise mentor/parent figure for a wonderfully diverse group of less experienced characters, and they all have flaws that are worked on throughout the progression of the story. and with an amazing art style (or, like, a ton of art styles because that would be cool)

I love when you said “let your art be wonky - that’s what makes it art”. I was watching an urban sketching tutorial yesterday and was shocked when the artist said “yes, the building is leaning more than it is in real life, but I like it that way! I’ll leave it.” Sometimes what we think of as “mistakes” are just part of the art :)

I have endless admiration for the beauty and wonder that is this painting, and the amazing work Scott put into it! I love all the detail and experience and the subtle interactions between the characters, I love how colorful the Guild is and how it looks like a big group photo and I love the diversity. But most of all I love all the little stories that are hidden in the painting, some maybe intentionally and some not. Like how the two human fighters are sitting with serious faces watching the dwarf, maybe wondering why he has his axe drawn. The shared glances between the centaur and the quiet one The tiefling smirking as they see the halfling and shifter goofing off How the knome and the pink haired elf woman look like they are giggling over an inside joke The kenku staring into nothingness dreaming about stabbing And how it looks like the fawn is a little weary or surprised by the enchantresses magic. Also I like to try to find the sweaters/cloaks that I think the old tortle made (I also like to think that she made the ear-defenders for the centaur)

IT IS DONE! I'm so happy to see this finished. "Join me later for an autistic centaur" and "It's kobold time!" are definitely up there with the greatest lines ever uttered. 37 characters is mad. You might've already explained it and I just missed it, but is there a reason you picked that? Or did you just find 37 beautiful reference photos and stuck with that? I LOVE your character art. The two test characters with just watercolors and ink were so cool. They look like they should be illustrations in like a fantasy guidebook or something. With the painting, it surprised me a little that you did the characters one by one. My usual process is laying out the shadows and basic colors for all characters in the scene so I can be 100% sure that they'll all look like they belong because I tend to accidentally make some stand out too much from the rest. I really like the gnome. From the first sketch, I liked their cheerful expression. You're on point with the "I'd desperately try to avoid someone like them at social events", but I think I wouldn't mind just being in their presence. Maybe from a distance, but they seem fun to me. Centaur and the quiet lady are adorable. The big cat character is really cool, too. I'd call them Tora which means tiger in Japanese, and in Old Norse the name realtes to the god Thor. Sorry for the long comment. I'm really excited about this. I also just wanted to thank you again. I'm an autistic, transmasculine, gay artist and it really means the world to me to see allies be so outspoken about their support. I owe my life to allies like you and I really don't think I would be here today, at least definitely not as happy as I am these days. I love the diverse cast of characters and I'm sure everyone else who is in some way represented in your art is really thankful for your support as well. Thank you for everything
